I'm receiving numerous "Read timed out" errors running DiabloMiner with deepbit, log:

Quote
[11/18/12 4:45:23 PM] Added GeForce 9400M (#1) (2 CU, local work size of 64)
[11/18/12 4:55:22 PM] ERROR: Cannot connect to pit.deepbit.net: Read timed out
[11/18/12 4:59:22 PM] pit.deepbit.net accepted block 1 from GeForce 9400M (#1)
[11/18/12 5:05:23 PM] ERROR: Cannot connect to pit.deepbit.net: Read timed out
[11/18/12 5:18:12 PM] ERROR: Cannot connect to pit.deepbit.net: Read timed out

Are there any known connectivity issues with the server at the moment?

thanks for any ideas Smiley

Tycho, do you think you will ever get back over 5000 Gh/s like you were before the big multi pool DDoS? I can see ASIC's helping you with that very soon. BTW: When are you going to implement Stratum like eleuthria did?

Running DeepBit with a GTX 560ti 448 with flags -v -w 128 in GuiMiner and getting 142MH/s.

Any suggestions besides "Get better hardware"?

If your GPU temps are still ok when running the miner you can always try to overclock to get a few more Mhashes

Started out at 126MH/s with no flags and stock clocks.  Increased core by 80Mhz increasing it to 140MH/s, at the same time I lowered my memory clock as far as I could to try and keep the temperature in check.  I believe it's sitting around 70C, depending on the temperature in the room.

Added flags "-v -w 128" raising it to 142MH/s.

I'm sure I could overclock a little more, but I wanted to try everything else possible first to try and avoid as much heat as possible.

Got a new 140mm coming in the mail to fill the empty spot on the side of my case.  We'll see what that does, if anything.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I'm thinking about implementing some new protocol soon, but at this moment standard getwork is more than enough.
Also I don't think that hashrate drop was caused by DDoS.

No, not directly caused by it but I watched users fail to connect for a couple of days and never return in the same quantity. I think you lost people at that time because most people are lazy. If they are forced to configure a failover pool or mine at a smaller pool they will. That incident just made them do the configuration and 1500-2000 Gh/s never returned.

What just happened to the PPS rate? 0_0 Did it just have roughly a %50 cut?
EDIT: Ouch..nevermind. Didn't realize the cut down to 25btc per block happened. That was a few weeks earlier than anticipated.

The problems are caused by the DDoS, as stated in the main thread.
If your miner still works you can continue mining.

What kind of problems ?
If you see your payment at the payments history then everything is working.
