So do I even need to install Bitcoin.exe for payouts or do I just hop onto Mt Gox and copy down the address for me to add BTC to my Mt Gox account?
That's correct, you can do that.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

bottom line deepbit may be almost the 50% holder of the bitcoin hashing network but I have had my best earnings with deepbit, tried slush pool but i just cant support any system that will potentially pay me nothing for my contribution, sorry its a "principal" thing plus it bashes small "do it for fun" miners like me

What is the purpose of having multiple workers on the website?  Do I need one for each computer I have here at home mining or can multiple computers use the same worker account?

Well if you are using a secure password(something with symbols like ! or #), it messing up the syntax of the phoenix miner when you put those in a terminal, so phoenix won't start. I like the option of having multiple different miners, that way you can keep your deepbit main account secure so no one can change your pay out address. At the same time, maybe you are running multiple computers and you would like the option of have one card or computer pay-per-share mode and the other pay out proportional. I really like the customability of the miner. It also provides another tool to monitor your efficiency.

So those are the reasons I thing it exist. You can run multple computers/GPU's on the same worker account. Extra workers are for more flexibility and security.

It's recommended to have each miner instance to be used with separate worker credentials, so you will see witch ones are working and which ones are not. Also you can compare their stats.

But if your setup doesn't allows you to use separate worker accounts, you can use up to 20 miners with Long Polling support on one worker account.

Pretty sure I just had my password stolen from the deepbit.net login, not sure who to talk to about it, so I'm posting this here.
There is a contact e-mail at the bottom of each pool's webpage.

Also you can try to recover your password if your e-mail is not compromised.

Have you tried to change password for those workers ?
Do you use any unusual symbols in your worker passwords ?

Can someone help me start mining? I've messaged Tycho and he never got back with me. I want to start mining on deepbit. I know that I can only mine via CPU due to my computer not having GPU capability. I use GUIMiner.

Thanks,
Jared

Any help appreciated!
