When pool will be back to life?
As soon as the datacenter reactivates our IP addresses. In the meantime, IPv6 is working fine.

FWIW - can't connect on IPV6 either - maybe my python doesn't support it, not sure.  Either way, haven't been able to push hashes up since around midnight UTC last night...

FWIW, the ipv6 address is [2a01:4f8:141:30a6:feed:7:d1ce:deed] and this also works in phoenix beta. If it doenst work for you right away automagically, you don't have windows 7 and need to figure out how to enable ipv6

yup my ipv6 is fully working - possibly the python version I'm using doesn't fully support it.

Code:
C:\python26>ping mining.eligius.st

Pinging ra.mining.eligius.st [2a01:4f8:141:30a6:feed:7:d1ce:deed] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 2a01:4f8:141:30a6:feed:7:d1ce:deed: time=39ms

Either way, it's not working for me, and it doesn't appear to be working for many people:

http://eligius.st/~artefact2/

EDIT: I upgraded my phoenix to head of the git repos, and now ipv6 is working.

Windows 7 users might try changing their registry to lookup AAAA records; I don't use Windows, so I don't know this is safe or works.

Edit: one user reports he had to flush his DNS cache too:
Code:
ipconfig /flushdns

IPv4 connectivity is expected to be restored ASAP. Windows XP can use IPv6 too, but it's not as simple...

Thanks for the info. i read this thread every day pls post when ipv4 is restored , although i try several times a day to log into my stats page. Need simple as i am not techy enough to overcome to many difficulties without some very detailed instructions as was provided by your youtube video when i first got started mining.

BTW i have really enjoyed mining on eligius these last few months and would like to continue to do so

The attacker seems to be ready to resume DDoS as soon as I announce a new server. Therefore, please contact me privately on IRC to learn the new IPv4 server.

Perhaps to blackmail? Perhaps because their botnet was not allowed to mine on the pool? Perhaps for some other reason, possibly rational in a fashion, possibly quite irrational. Perhaps just to test their offensive abilities. Perhaps because they couldn't break anything else, but were paid to break something, so they have to fulfill their part of the deal?

Either way, since I need to use IPv4, I donated a little amount to the pool's account to help cover any costs resulting from this inconvenience, and temporarily switched to my backup plan, that is, solo mining.

I'll try to get on IRC by evening (UTC).

Well I cannot connect via IPv4, I get basically host not resolving.

As I tended to connect to IRC via the chat on the webpage I don't have the IRC info for connecting directly.

I understand not wanting to broadcast any of the new info but we do need a bit more to go on in order to fix our miners or connect to the IRC channel for help. Stuck mining for Deep right now, yuck.

At least for now, you can access Eligius via Tor.
Stats: http://nf3f4ckca56zjtuh.onion/~artefact2/ or (tor2web) https://nf3f4ckca56zjtuh.tor2web.org/~artefact2/
Mining: http://xg3mjrqqxal4i5g7.onion:8337/

No idea what latency is like or how well it works.

Ok, I stupidly linked to eligius.st there, which obviously won't work. Try this one: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3877763/Win7-IPv6.reg

mining.eligius.st back online for IPv4 now, thanks to wizkid using Amazon EC2's DDoS protection to setup a proxy.

Hopefully we can get stats back to IPv4 soon too, but for now, please continue to use the tor2web address: https://nf3f4ckca56zjtuh.tor2web.org/~artefact2/

For now, the website is available at http://eligius.st:8080/ (IPv4 only)
IPv6 users should continue to use http://eligius.st/

The threat landscape in shared hosted environments is unique from that of the standard AV products detection suite in that they are detecting primarily OS level trojans, rootkits and traditional file-infecting viruses but missing the ever increasing variety of malware on the user account level which serves as an attack platform.
Using the CYMRU malware hash registry, which provides malware detection data for 30 major AV packages, we can demonstrate this short coming in current threat detection.
