I don't know if it was because of greed. Or about the project mainly. It's roadmap is a bit shady, also the profits.

My friend was cheated by 3M! 3M is a ponzi scheme from Russia!

The publicity of 3M is the pyramid of the people, and the people below pay the high profits of the people above, but the problem is that people don't know whether they are the last!

I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
How do we help people not to get scammed?

I feel for you mate. It's hard to get scammed in any market, more so, in this market because everything we earn entails a lot of preparation work and risks. So, having your money or asset just be taken away in that manner is not a good pill to swallow. I would not wish for that to happen to anyone else. But, since it's done, then the next best thing to do is to study what happened, step back and see what went wrong or what baited you to be a victim in that scam, if it really is a scam, so that next time once you see some warning signs, you surely can keep away from it.

So far No Smiley because im not investing money in a lot of investing company, and im carefully joining in other links or site. Im afraid that all of my money for my hardworkings will gone.
Agree to you. You should be able to know the basic first, you need to read first. But we cannot blame anyone, it is normal in the beginning, like me, I've already been scammed so many times since I started in cryptocurrency, but now. I already know what are the good or bad in crypto. That is really okay.

In crypto not yet but in pyramid scheme yes, they conduct trainings on how to handle customers, invite new members, making them join and submit their money for product but when they reach their targets, they don't bother at all. Keep reporting some issues but only replies is, "let me forward it to the main office".

So little carefully also in crypto, careful what group to join!

Not yet, but i hope its not gonna happen. But i experience more on hacking. All my tokens were lost because of someone just hacked mu account and transfer my tokens to its address. Back to scam, i know that many incident is happening in the world of cryptos and some people (the greedy people) are finding ways to have their own money even using the illegal way. As far as no big investments involve, no big loss is going to happen. Always be cautious all the time and search more about the project before entering it. By the way, i remembered that i was scammed in one of my bounty, it doest pay me after all the completed task i made.

I am still new here and based on my experience and some activities in bitcoin I am not get scammed, I think you must be intelligent and be literate on what is happening in the sites, read some articles and history about it before you go with that thing so that you have enough knowledge about it.

I remembered a very old autosurf ponzi scam 12DailyPro. At that time, it promised 12% of the daily income. This is simply impossible. But this did not prevent many people from joining the project.
In fact, there were more such ponzis before, and as far as I could tell there was studiotraffic, 4daily and the like. That's really a crazy time.

Not at all, I actively take precautions to prevent myself against scams.
Before I invest in anything I make sure  to do enough research and confirm for myself that it is actually a legit project that is worth investing in and throwing money into.
Also I have a rule which I have always followed, which is that if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is and this is what has kept me away from scams.

Yes I have been scammed before. I was fooled into entering a website that I didn't know has a key logger. After that incident I have been very careful when going into sites or making transactions with anyone.

if you're an old user in bitcoin, I think you've been fooled. I thought that was the usual thing. even I've been fooled at some minning sites and investment sites, like HYIP, and others. but, it will also shape your thinking.

I was scammed once at a HYIP site and someone stole my bitcoin from my blockchain account too. It happened long time ago when I was relatively new to this kind of business and didn't care too much about security. As time goes by, I learn from my mistakes.
.

Yes I have been scammed two times before. The first one was when I joined networking I have loss the money that I've invested and the second time was when I joined a campaign in bitcoin that wasn't legit.

I had not been scammed so far and the reason is that I always check reviews before using a website. Only way a person can avoid this is to completely avoid suspicious claims and offers.

The Internet is full of scams and unfortunately, nowadays, scammers are using Bitcoin/crypto to execute their scams. It is very disappointing that 5 out of 6 people heard about Bitcoin through any scam related news. I believe that crypto is all about self-responsibility and I have saved my huge amount of money just by doing some research before taking any decision on investment. I would recommend using the search box for acquiring information before investing anywhere.
