can i mine this without running the wallet?
yes, run the primecoind instead. remember to edit the conf file add: gen=1

Actually, primecoind also runs the wallet (you can execute transactions using its RPC interface) but it does not have a GUI.
If that's what was meant by "without running the wallet" everything is fine :-)

Onkel Paul

i dont know how to run the primecoind and how to edit conf, do i have to make my own conf u mean because i dont see any in prime coin directory , i have to c2duo e8200 want to run them automatically when i start the computer without opening the wallet, can somebody help me about this conf thing thanks.

If you are on Windows (I assume you are) open Notepad, copy this line in it:
gen=1
and save it in C:\Users\{username}\Application Data\Primecoin\ as file primecoin.conf, now when you run primecoin-qt (what you call wallet) or primecoind it will start mining automatically. As someone said, there is no such thing as no-wallet, either of these have all wallet functionality. If you don't want to run GUI (primecoin-qt) you can create batch file and start primecoind with command line options from batch file, exe is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Primecoin\daemon\primecoind.exe if you are on 64bit Win or C:\Program Files\Primecoin\daemon\primecoind.exe if you are on 32bit.

If you want to mine, gen=1 is enough with primecoin-qt. If you don't need a GraphicalUserInterface use primecoind and another much more difficult password than x, for your own security.

And with a 'normal' PC you need much luck and patience. I have no luck as yet, and I'm mining since start.

Do you expect to see xpm/btc price settle at 0.001ish as other as ppc/trc/fc ? It's getting harder and harder to mine, but there's not really use of it, or you think it will be different this time.

As other cryptos are either SHA256d or scrypt based, I think this one has at least a light scientific value and at the very least has a "collector" value compared to others.

Math geeks may have a good time priming faster and/or more efficiently than others using their knowledge. OK, I'm being optimistic Tongue

Tried it on two machines...got this on each:

Code:
Getwork() failed with error code 1

Bummer, as I've only gotten one block last Thursday or so and nothing since.  I was looking forward to pooled mining.

as for "collect value", coins in the block that broke the world record in the other days should be worth more than some random coins.

OK, but I have so bad luck or it's most suck coin ever?!

I mine over 70 hours and I found 10 blocks (all immature...). Today all was changed to orphan and was delete from my wallet... It's really not nice and completly demotivated...

Someone out there is definitely GPU mining, and isn't sharing it. They could 51% the network if they wanted to. :/

I dont think there are ASIC or GPU mining. Some people find good deal with VPS plan, mining still profitable at 0.003

Was the wallet able to synchronize before you started mining? Or did it stay at "X days behind" on the bottom of Bitcoin-qt? I'm guessing you mined them all without a current blockchain and then today you were able to download the blockchain and the wallet found out that you found those blocks seperate from the blockchain.
