I think that ETH don't have any competitors at the moment, not during this year at least. There're few blockchains that have good potential like EOS and ICX, but they're still far behind the ethereum. And ethereum also doesn't stand on the same place it's developing and getting stronger.

Ethereum can process only 25 tps compared to 2000 tps Tron. In a recent testing platform Zilliga managed to reach a rate of 2828 tps. This means that it will be difficult for the Ethereum to remain the king of smart contracts and ICO. And yet - it is worth recalling that the Stellar platform is now more convenient for launching ICO in comparison with ETH. As will be further - we'll see.

There are new platforms and developed platforms also recently that capable. Rootstock, the bitcoin platform that had such a long years of development is close to launchng. Neo, stellar, EOS, Nano etc have made such improvement on ethereum flaws.

According to the current thinking there is no rival Ethereum. Because the developer team is very good. The best is vitalik. Future updates will be even better and will not compete with Ethereum.

In fact, we still need to mention such a platform as a stellar, which, despite the poor state of the market, already this year proved to be a promising coin.

In 2017, I would say that this is EOS, Cardano and Tron. But now I can only mark the throne. With EOS everything is very dull (check google), cardano team is in tilting. Only the TRON has a normal roadmap, lol.

I think many investors have the same idea with me that is EOS. With fast and attractive growth for investors around the world, ETH is the main competitor of ETH in the near future.

If we consider Ethereum as a cool centralized project, only USDT can compete with It in the field of centralization. p.s. it's a joke.

I consider the biggest competitor for ethereum Eos. At him most of all chances to take the place of eth next year. Active developments for development and improvement of network are conducted. But even in addition, at Eos good chances to take the place of ethereum.

I don't think there are any real competitors right now. Everything either isn't in production yet and will have to build an ecosystem from scratch, or doesn't have a significant advantage, or gets higher throughput by relying on more centralized consensus mechanisms, which is fine as a stopgap but I don't think will ultimately win (and for anyone who wants that, Enterprise Ethereum can offer some fine permission chains).

It seems to me that EOS has a chance to become one of the strongest competitors for ETH. A new and actively developing project, with an excellent team of developers and good scalability.

I think EOS, if EOS can do what it advertises, then EOS will go beyond ETH.

There are several platforms that compete with ether. What they have an advantage, for example, in the speed of transactions per second or speed of work with the platform. But they also all have their drawbacks. Despite all this, I think that the ether will take a dominant place for a long time.

The closest competitor is definitely EOS, he is very close to ethereum. It is very interesting to see who will win.

I do find some projects technically interesting, especially DFinity, then RChain, but it'll be a while before either one launches. I'll also probably look more at Cardano and Zilliqa. I used to be interested in Aeternity before the suits kicked out the guy who invented it.

I think that the main token which should Eth holders a bit worried is EOS. if they do what they say they can then it might just destroy the dominance which Ethereum has in the smart contract platform.

Agree with you, and as we know today, many ICOs start to use EOS platform and many altcoin that use ETH platform before, and now they move the platform into EOS
