The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I think there are many worthy competitors to compete with ETH. I will give you 5 pennies that I consider to be a strong competitor in the future with ETH:
1. NEO
2. Tron
3. Stellar
4. EOS
5. Cardano
Because I think with the obvious application, the potential in the plan, these are the 5 most worthy coins.

NEO or XLM could catch ETH too - they can be really good basement for ICOs and exchanges. 2018 is year of ICOs and whose platform will be the strongest we will see.

The best contender to Ethereum may be the administration of the United States of America, should they ever proclaim it illicit. In the event that you'd wish to keep the discourse on the crypto circle I would figure NEO would be the main challenger. Maybe EOS in the event that it conveys what guaranteed.

Nonetheless, there will be many more Ethereum competitors emerging in the market over time. However, only those platforms that can achieve mainstream adoption and usage will survive in the future. Just my opinion Smiley

There are alot of competitor of ETH in the market but all of them still not possible to replace ETH. In my opinion the best competitor of ETH is ADA and NEO. Both project has strong team member and in the future can be possible to become next Ethereum.

You didn't specify itf it is the token price or the technology, if it's the token price, then there would be very very few.
But if it is the technology, to be honest even though I believe Ethereum is in a class of it's own, there are blockchains like my signature that promises way more especially in the part of scalability

I don't think there are any real competitors right now. Everything either isn't in production yet and will have to build an ecosystem from scratch, or doesn't have a significant advantage, or gets higher throughput by relying on more centralized consensus mechanisms, which is fine as a stopgap but I don't think will ultimately win (and for anyone who wants that, Enterprise Ethereum can offer some fine permission chains).

there are actually some eth rivals like eos, ltc, cardano and neo, but my neo is the best competitor eth, because if you see neo development may neo better than altcoin other than eth, neo only takes two years to be like recently

I think that the main competitor of ethereum will soon be EOS. This is a coin of the new generation of crypto currency, which already now exceeds the ethereum by some characteristics. When the EOS platform massively begins to conduct ICO, then the competition between them will not be a joke.

Actually, there are more than hundreds competitors to ETH, but asking this question is similar to asking "Best competitors to Apple?". There're plenty, but Apple is sitting on the very top by continuously innovate/research/create new way to bound people into their cult. In a way ETH is like that. There's not a cult like project that is stronger than ETH atm. Any tought?

although many of Ethereum's competitors are on the market, but they have not been able to convince a lot of people yet, to replace Ethereum is very difficult for the Ethereum rivals, the best it is the ADA and NEO, they are both projects of having strong team members in the future, we can to become the next Ethereum.

Though Ethereum is still going to dominate that niche for a long time.

in my opinion ethereum best competitor is EOS. EOS is now widely used as an ICO platform. besides that EOS has good development and has a good future.

I agree that NEO was one of the biggest contender for ETH but not for bitcoin since their intended usage differs from each other. I would also say that waves is one more contender to Ethereum not in terms of price but in terms of creating tokens. All that is needed to create a token using it are 1 waves and of course a little to no knowledge to programming. They are friendly for companies that wanted to create their own crypto without programmers of their own.

According to the current thinking there is no rival Ethereum. Because the developer team is very good. The best is vitalik. Future updates will be even better and will not compete with Ethereum.
