Still many countries don't reveal their status about bitcoin on their countries and some countries are totally banned and many countries are trying to regulate it which means they are accepting bitcoin as a legal currency in their country. But the legal or illegal is based on where you are living.

i think it is quite difficult to determine bitcoin is legal or not because it is really depends on where you at, if your country accept to use bitcoin as payment and currency then there is no problem to say bitcoin is legal, but if your country has already banned bitcoin, than keep using bitcoin is illegal. About myself, i believe bitcoin will be much more accepted by governments on the world legally in the future.

Many countries have anti-money laundering laws. Buying and selling usually come under those laws if you are exchanging fiat for coins or vice versa.Who gives a shit about their laws unless you run into the police station and confess to being a crypto criminal

Bitcoin is of interest to law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, and legal regulators, all of which are trying to understand how the cryptocurrency fits into existing frameworks. The legality of your bitcoin activities will depend on who you are, where you live, and what you are doing with it.
Dufferent plce have different poliocy so it depends.

The whole idea of bitcoin or digital currency is global in nature and therefore , decentralized. It doesn't look at who you are or what you do with it as you erroneously (from my point of view ) posit.

As you rightly said, yes its legality is concerned with where you are from. However , I'm yet to know a country that has legalized it officially in their financial system. All we have is quasi acceptance and quasi rejection.

So bitcoin isn't absolutely fair.
It depends on which country you are, at present most of the countries to hold the bitcoin and trade bitcoin is not illegal, but there are a few small countries is banned the bitcoin trading, is really a pity.
It depends on where you live and where you trade.

Yes that right the legalitas of Bitcoin depend on the country where we stay. In my country Indonesia, Bitcoin not regulated yet so goverment not allowed using Bitcoin to make transaction for good and service. But in fact many kafe and restaurant here accepted Bitcoin for payment good and service. So that mean this technology can not stop by anyone.

That's right. It depends on where you are standing. For most parts, I can say that Bitcoin is legal. It is accepted in many countries as a currency and a medium of trade and investment. However, in the context of legality, that would solely depend on the country's view on it. For example, in the UK, I have read that mining Bitcoin is not legal, they confiscate rigs and other effects related to mining. However, earning it and using it in other means are not. So, there you go. There are so many facets of using Bitcoin and earning it. Thus, one country may designate one act illegal while totally supporting other acts.

The legality of bitcoin is a strange discussion: actually, bitcoins are just some points that you earn in a strange videogame.
And this can't be illegal. But, it seems that some people like these points, and they are willing to pay for them.
This is hardly illegal, but - if I receive money - I have to pay some taxes.
The real problem is that governments and banks don't still real understand what bitcoin is and how it works, so they react to what they don't understand  in the only way they know: prohibiting, punishing, threatening.

But they can't stop bitcoin, they can only make difficult to exchange it in fiat money. We'll see how the situation will evolve.

bitcoin is never illegal, only a few countries are implementing it. now bitcoin has reached its best position and every country competes to learn bitcoin to be used in the country. so no need to worry about bitcoin issues will be illegal.

Although those are very few countries still that is illegality so if someone that is totally relying his life to bitcoin and spending everyday his crypto savings then he shouldn't go to those countries.

People get confused between legal and legal tender. In most of the countries, Bitcoin is not a legal tender (not recognized as a currency) that doesn't mean that Bitcoin itself is illegal. In India there is no regulation regarding cryptocurrencies like most of the countries, it means cryptocurrencies are neither legal nor illegal here, however, the Indian government said they don't recognize Bitcoin as a legal tender. What it means, it means you can buy/sell or acquire Bitcoin legally in India, but the government wouldn't recognize it as a currency.

Every country has its tax policy,  so the legacy of cryptocurrency will be regulated on its level.  Govs  always want their share:)  and for example,  if a caffee somewhere accepts crypto,  how they can make accountant's report on this particular receipt?

In my personal opinion,I think Bitcoin legality depends on what country you are. Because we know that there are some countries banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Although there are also countries legalize it but mostly bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are needed to be understand.

So far, bitcoin isn't banned anywhere I believe.

But selected countries have made speculative trading of bitcoin and other cryptos on exchanges illegal.

i think it all depends on the country you are. In other countries, they consider it legal. But, personally, I do not see anything illegal in it as long as trading isn't illegal.

Bitcoin is not legal nor illegal too in my country, still no information about anythig so I can use bitcoin anywhere I want and I am not payin any specific taxes for crypto currencies. So the legality is based on where you are living but even if it is illegal it is free to use since it is decentralised technology so no one can track us,only they will find us if we are buying or selling the bitcoin.
