How does the mining work? I unlocked my address but nothing is happening, no CPU load, no GPU load. I'm confused. It's 100% proof-of-stake currency. More money u have == more blocks u mine. So, me being someone that doesn't have any coins.. How do I obtain some to start mining? Buy them or do some work for them.

There will be some bounties set. One of Nxt stake holders offered a few millions, read a couple pages upthread.

Why does the time in transactions and blocks list say 24 Dec 2013?? We are still in November, right? Or is it a bug related to the java numbering of months...

Right, so when will an online client be ready that is secure?
Never, relying on a 3rd party can't be secure. Not 100%ly secure, but your online client is so damm unsecure it's insane to use or offer it at all. I don't want to trashtalk my investment here, but from my perspective you all have shown far too little sensitivity for security to run a closed source project with such enomous requirements on security. If you can't fix the perspective from outsiders about your security effords noone would buy any of your coins. I don't think you are, but you do look very incompetent on this for an outsider. Change your altitude towards security, and stop to offer help in a way that rings every alarm bell on everyone with brains. Requesting keys via PM is a nice way to help people, but if I had read something like that bevor I wouldn't have bought any coins at all. The way you handled the initial distribution is extemly incompetent and I don't even see how others could check the whole initial block. Asking someone to set up a VPN so you could configure his machine is madness!

BCNext confirmed that server part contains calendar.set(Calendar.MONTH, Calendar.NOVEMBER); Client part: Date.UTC(2013, 11, 24, 12, 0, 0, 0) Weird...

Hmm, just opened the client and get this...
C:\Users\Pascal\Desktop\Nxt>java -cp Nxt.zip Nxt [2013-11-24 09:48:36.004] Nxt 0.2.2 started.
Any idea what is wrong?

BCNext confirmed that server part contains calendar.set(Calendar.MONTH, Calendar.NOVEMBER); Client part: Date.UTC(2013, 11, 24, 12, 0, 0, 0) Weird... This is where the problem is, must be Date.UTC(2013, 10, 24, 12, 0, 0, 0). Java numbers the months starting from January=0, so November is month number 10... very annoying but I guess too late to change in the JDK. But if the server side code is fine, fixing just the client should be simple. http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/util/Date.html#UTC(int,%20int,%20int,%20int,%20int,%20int)

I have 5000 NXT now, account is unlocked, but still no CPU/GPU usage. What do I have to do? Wait for 1440 blocks before u able to mine. Cunicula could explain why he added 1440 blocks maturation period. 1440 blocks ~ 24 hours.
