can using anti virus software screw it up?
I've read that some antivirus software (for example Avast) block the coinhive mining scripts. That is why if you are using any of these antiviruses it may block your FreeBitco mining. If this is the case, check whether the antivirus software you are using has an option to whitelist a given website (in this case FreeBitco), so that it can execute the mining script.

The "Bitcoin Gold" hard fork currently does not seem to be a viable fork - since they have not given any information about the fork on their website (btcgpu.org) and have no supported wallets yet. If there are no wallets that support it, we shall not be able to make "Bitcoin Gold" available for withdrawals. If however, there is wallet support for "Bitcoin Gold" before the hard fork date and the block number for the fork is announced in advance, we shall make it available for withdrawal.
They've made site updates recently The Bitcoin Gold (BTG) initial coin distribution method is exactly the same as that used by Bitcoin Cash (BCH). All Bitcoin holders who possess BTC private keys on October 25 (block 491 407) will receive Bitcoin Gold on the rate of 1 BTC = 1 BTG (If you have 20 BTC you will receive 20 BTG). You need to control BTC private keys in order to make Bitcoin Gold transactions.
Source: http://btcgpu.org/https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU Not sure if their wallet is ready but I sure hope I'll get these coins along with shitwig2x so I wont have to withdraw from freebitco.in to my core wallet.

Its always there and was never gone here just i dont use it as of my Avast Anti Virus dont like it Anti virus doesn't like any mining software. That is to warn you in the case of it being done maliciously without your knowledge. If you are actually trying to mine it is safe to add it to your anti virus exception list.

Yeah. And what we surely need is not to miss the advance notice of when FreeBitco.in will pause withdrawal/deposits prior the fork date :]. indeed mate, the day is approaching really fast and i do hope Freebit will give us an heads up regarding to this matter if their wallet are ready to grab some btc gold if btc will be stored inside of it, so for those who loves and enjoying their games doesn't need to withdraw and place their btc in another wallet. lets wait for any updates here.

That's great news. I hope FreeBitco handles the upcoming fork in the same way it handled the Bitcoin Cash fork - by offering a button to convert the forked coins directly to BTC and add them to your FreeBitco balance.

I would like to know about it. FreeBitco.in, will you let us exchange the alternative BTCs to the original Bitcoin on your own site like you did with Bitcoin Cash? It would be very helpful...

Hooray! HARD FORK POLICY (UPDATED 18 October 2017) <...> As "Bitcoin Gold" has announced a fork block number and has a wallet, we shall be able to make it available for withdrawals for our users. You do not need to do anything and you should be able to see an option to withdraw your "Bitcoin Gold" soon after the hard fork. <...>
That's great, but if they manage to add a conversion option to BTC in FreeBitco (like they did with the BCH fork), it would be even better
