The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

If you make several transfers, that's several different blocks. Each block will have a different count, even is they are all in the same address

Send the coins to your wallet and close it, if you wish. The coins will age even with a closed wallet. After 30 days, open the wallet, let it sync, unlock it and wait for the results.

This is the basic procedure and it works very well.

However, once your are familiar with this basic steps, you can start to thing about opening your wallet according to the difficulty in order to maximize stakes and so on.

Honestly, I use only the basic procedure and I'm very happy with the results.

Good luck and welcome to TEK!

Yes it is correct! but keep in mind that some very small blocks of a few coins will take a long time to stake even after it matures.
the best is send some coins to a special address untill you have about 5000tek there, then send all 5000tek to a new address => it will form the solid block of 5000tek and give you almost instant reward when you unlock your wallet for staking, after this block matures in 30 days.
Its better to keep your blocks big.. 5000+ I would say

Ummm.... huh?

Actually, in order to get daily rewards you need to either accept one of three things...

1) You need to have a lot of blocks... way more than the min coinage
2) You need to have as many blocks as min coinage and very large blocks (# of coins)
3) You need to have as many blocks as min coinage and a coin with very low difficulty

All three of these also require something else... blocks broken up into ~ one per day and even then you'll wind up with days when you'll have 2+ and days when you'll have none... and your "daily rewards" will get all messed up then...

You can pretty much take a look at two types of coins...  I'll use TEK and HYP

HYP's difficulty is so large that I have 32 blocks with the smallest block being 6800 coins and I still only stake maybe once a week.
TEK's diffciulty varies... sometimes it's higher and sometimes it's nice and low... but I have 32 blocks and stake (on average) within 1 hour of min coinage being satisfied.

That's my take though...

This space not for rent...

% is variable based upon difficulty but, near 40% right now. Some only open wallet
when % is near 40% - I usually leave my wallet open and do not care what % is.
I figure the compounding effect of getting them sooner helps balance it out. My
problem is, I would probably forget to open it when % was high.

I have staggered my blocks - at least 1 or more each day over the 30 days so,
I am always getting something.

I have staggered my blocks - at least 1 or more each day over the 30 days so,
I am always getting something.

Since you get a larger amount for blocks older then 30 days, for me it makes sense to have one BIG block.

I accomplish 3 things this way: First, I only have to worry about one stake per period, and if I have to wait for difficulty to drop it is not too big of deal, as I will be paid a larger amount for waiting.

Second, I don't contribute to the micro-staking mess.

And third, since my one block has become quite large, when I do unlock to stake, it is pretty much instant.  Once i do stake, I go to coin control and move all blocks into one again. (including any incoming transaction for that month.)

Initially, anything I do mid month may not stake, which is OK as it is usually fairly small in comparison to my large block. If a smaller block comes in mid month, say from a purchase or transfer,  I do have the option of leaving the smaller block alone for 45 days then allowing that to stake (at the same time as my next stake on the large block) then roll it all together.

It is a bit of a game, but fun. if we all used coin control, we could better control difficulty.

Have fun!

Perhaps by the same method you used Gribgo, change them into a coin that does have a working wallet, then transfer out?

My method was for getting out BTC from Cryptsy.. so I suggested to buy some coin that can be withdrawn from Cryptsy -HBN, DMD .. some other coins.. but tek wallet is closed at Cryptsy.. so no point to spend your btc to buy tek and then what? sell tek for btc back and buy another coin? %(

Did not realize it was BTC you were trying to move Gribgo.  Just stumbled on this:  http://bitcoinist.net/cryptsy-has-moved-out-of-their-building-unannounced-nowhere-to-be-found/  Looks grim for Cryptsy.

There will be some variance. With TEK, this is mostly the case, but from time to time there will be blocks that take longer than normal. With most staking coins, the variance is very high. With TEK, you're strategy is pretty sound. Just don't panic if there's a day where nothing stakes followed by a day where two or three blocks stake.

@Joebwan  Thanks for the update! I told you guys something bad was going on there. Who ever still has coins on cryptsy I advise that you get them out of there as soon as possible. Convert btc and ltc and Tek to something else and transfer them out. It looks like to me they are relocating in China to avoid the government crack down. Perhaps as I said before someone hacked them and the stole coins. I wonder when we will hear what really happened.

I got everything off Cryptsy two months ago when this forum started reporting the iffy withdrawals.  Since then I've spent a bit of time looking back and wondering if that was a mistake.

Well, it's pretty clear now that it wasn't a mistake and I'd like to thank everyone who brought the situation to light.

imo, it no longer is of any interest what prices are on Cryptsy.  The price is zero if you can't withdraw.
