There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.

The guy is correct. Its not worth it.

You are really better off just going on Craigslist buying some $50 GPU and just mine with that crappy GPU and you will make more satoshis with less work.

Maybe in some countries with very expensive electricity rates or some really poor 3rd world countries these small faucets are worth it but for the general population, it doesn't generate any worth the time.

How is buying something in hope of making ROI better than being given something for free?

I have done a lot of mining as well so I'm not saying don't do it. I am just saying that if like me you are sat in front of a computer all day then having a tab open and making a couple of clicks every hour or so to get free money is worth it.

Because right now GPU mining is very profitable even with an old Radeon 7850 GPU which you can get dirt cheap on the second hand market. I am not asking him to go out and buy a bunch of Vegas.

There is no risk, since he can most likely resell that 7850 for the same price he paid for, unless it breakes which is unlikely.

Doing that is much much easier than doing these pointless faucets for scraps of BTC.

These kind of faucet are only a waste of time. You need 10 lifes to make a considerable amount of money. I Think It is better to spend time in more profitable activities

No, you get free money by clicking a button once an hour. When you add in all the bonuses you get and chances to win more also for free you could easily make a good amount. Get some referrals as well and it soon adds up. I've made over 0.36BTC by sticking at it since the site started, that is a considerable amount of money now.

I can't agree. Electricity in Belgium where I live is very expensive, so I doubt that GPU mining would be interesting for me.
The free roll only takes few seconds and you have a chance to win 200$ with every roll. The amount of satoshis you now win is very low, but if bitcoin further increases than these satoshis can give you some nice money.

Be careful with Hi Lo game, it is entertaining, but you can lose money there as the house edge is 5%.
This faucet is less profitable than mining, but it's totally free (no investment needed), and with bitcoin price that increases, i don't regret time spent on this faucet.
Hi Lo is never been profitable for me as I lost many times but never stop this as its just for fun and most of time I have good amount of lottery tickets which are also never helpful for me as I never won any big prize from here just have few prize from free rolls but still using this site for long time

You are still comparing making a speculative investment looking for a return to being given free money. I said it was worthwhile doing it because it is free money.

Doing that is much much easier than doing these pointless faucets for scraps of BTC.

These pointless scraps have added up to 0.36BTC for me which means I now have $6,000 more worth of Bitcoin than I would if 4 years ago I had listened to the people saying exactly what you are saying now.

I also did mining, trading and investing which I have made more from. That doesn't change that my bottom line is $6,000 better because of freebitco.in

The hi lo game is just for fun sakes, no one actually plays on it, I'll only play when I am really bored and will play with satoshi's to entertain myself. With such high prices I don't think it's worth clicking faucet you get barely 20 satoshi's that's not even worth it, and I like the fact that they give free interest but I moved my coins out to earn more in forks that are coming. You'll earn peanuts while mining and the cost of your electricity won't even justify it.

I agree with others, it is not worth to claim the faucet anymore it is 12-15 satoshi per claim now!

the rest of the features are good though. I myself am mainly using two of them: the referral system which is giving a very nice reward percentage of your referrals claims and winnings and profits on their "earn bitcoin" part.
and also the earn bitcoin part where it gives you some profit. it is a very small percentage but it is guaranteed and can accumulate to something decent after a while.

The faucet amount per claim now is really low due to the price of bitcoin rising steadily, so it will be very difficult for faucet users to reach the minimum amount for withdrawal but it still remains as one of the favorite faucet site for bitcoin users as the admin always payout all the withdrawals without any issue.

Even before the price of faucet claims are not this low it is still not viable for us to profit just by claiming faucet in the site. From my personal experience you need to have a lot of active referrals in which will be a good option for you to profit without even winning the lottery. Also the referral every time they claim to the faucet will give you a free ticket which means more chances of winning for you, if you don't want to spend and want to earn recruiting people under you will be a good plan and who knows you might even win a jackpot.

Admin can't reduce those withdrawal limits because of transaction fees are so high then he may end up paying more for withdrawals then withdrawal money. This is the main issue for bitcoins slowly bitcoins will not be suitable for smaller amount transactions we may need to find alternative coins for smaller amount transactions.

Is freebitcoin down for anyone else? i'm getting cloudflare error. checked the status on (http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/freebitco.in.html) it shows freebitcoin is up.

Google Recaptcha seems to be back and now there is an option to switch between which captcha to use.
That's good!

It is up here, no errors at at all. Maybe there was a few minutes downtime to fix something on the site, or maybe something wrong with your connection. If it was up on http://www.isitdownrightnow.com means that there should be no downtime on the site. Check it again mate, and report here if it is still down at your end.
