I have a VPS. How to do it? Please give some guide. Thanks.
Do we need a VPS to run Nxt? I could get one. I am still trying to figure out how the client works exactly. First, it was updating blocks in my client screen, but then it stopped after the ddos attack today. Also, my countdown ticker for my next generate block went offline. How does that ticker work exactly? It jumps all around for me (when I was able to see it). It would go from 38 minutes to 8 hours to 1 day back to 25 minutes. Does it actually count down to a generated block eventually?
As you can tell, I am still very confused as to how the block generation works. I have quite a large amount of Nxt, so I thought I would be able to generate quicker. But perhaps its more complicated than I realized.
VPS with static ip address can setup hallmark, which could help the network alot. there is a quick guide: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,607.0.html

Well, guys, I have a list of zombie nodes, if this experiment is too expensive for u coz u have to pay for traffic I can publish it later. Then u can send it to ur hoster and it will cut them off before they reach ur node. But I prefer to use this situation to tweak Nxt network performance coz there r not so many transactions and risk to lose some of them is minimal.
Also this shows to some stakeholders that Nxt still needs more nodes, maybe they decide to pay a few millions to fund the infrastructure...

From what i guess, you are keep generating incorrect blocks, that's because you are on some forked branch, you should update your *.nxt files after cfb publish new version nxtfiles.zip.

Although I am only on block 22506 it does seem to be very slowly chugging along - why is it so terribly slow to catch up?

It's hard to connect to other peers now.

Yes, my scroll bar says I am generating incorrect blocks. So where and how do I update my .nxt files? Where does CFB publish these? Is there a new release soon and I should just delete my old next folder and download a new one? I'm on a Mac client and it says it automatically updated the client for me, but perhaps it was referring to something else?

I see Active peers [28] - shouldn't that be enough?

I don't have a mac, but i guess the core part should be identical. I'm now running nrs 0.40, so far it works very well.

They r busy and can't feed ur node with recent blocks. Hmm... my Bitcoin client only ever has 8 nodes which never seem to be too busy to send me blocks so I think something is not working quite right.

Now I'm going to watch this and wait until big stakeholders decide what to do nxt. I see 2 possible ways:
1. They do nothing and price drops 2. They pay for public nodes and price rises

I set this number to 20 which greatly increases traffic (~6x), u can open web.xml and change 20 to 8.
