sure of course but when blocks are buried under a months worth of new blocks you can trust that you are on the right chain. thus you can just store the transactions and the block payload hash separately. And even though you couldn't calculate the hash out of the blocks you had, it would be such old news after a month that this wouldn't really matter.
Shrinking works similar way. Nothing stops us from doing it each month. Well im sure you have thought through all of this. Its just concerning to think of 100 billion people in the year 2800 still storing some idiots tweet about the fact that hes eating a sandwich from the year 2014. That would be a HUGE waste of resources. I just hope you and the other devs have an idea about how to avoid this.

any ideas or preference how to distribute public keys for AM? PGP e.g. has public key server for this. is this the way to go or better to store the keys into the blockchain at a defined key account? need to know what users prefer, to add a keyring similar structure into the client. any crypto-pro here to advise? the key could also exchanged via a secret account, known only by both parties, in case they prefer this.
does this makes sense?

2 questions to devs 1) when we'll be able to trade aliases? 2) why not add some memo field when sending coins? this will be very usefull for merchants and service providers, and most of other users as well)

1. Community will decide 2. We will do that when implement advanced payments.

I don't understand how he sent 0.3 BTC and only got 300,000 NXT? ? Surely it would be in the millions what he got? He bought AFTER the genesis block had been created.

The main purpose of Arbitrary Messages is to send signals, not to store data. During the shrinking all AMs will be removed.
What's your opinion on how to store data in a decentralized manner? Service Providers. If AM's are removed, the only way to keep a decentralized user profile information is via aliases as we mentioned before. A special kind of alias with "@" in front, so the alias becomes "@324234234233434" (for the account 324234234233434). Only that account can create or update that alias. In this alias, things like avatar, name, etc can be stored... CFB : thoughts?

@ NRS crypto algo bounty contestants: Guys, u were talking about splitting the bounty to 4 parts. Did u come to a decision? If u r agree to split the bounty then I won't spend time on speedtests.
Well I wouldn't mind. We all spend a lot of time coding. I guess hoax and gimre don't mind too, but I haven't heard Jaguar's opinion yet. I agree, 25% to everyone will be a fair.

U could move important AMs from previous blockchain to current one. Anyway u'll have access to older blockchains.

AM's have to be searched and looped until a match is found, with alias it's a single query.. Are you against the ID of a special alias with @ in the front meaning it's bound to a the account id?

can someone in the assetXchange get me a few 1000 NXT so I can issue some assets? I also implemented the asset exchange APIs into my CLI that I need to test as well.
