Offtopic: I have just generated 1 LAK in my browser! Took 7 hours.

Is this the POW-Coin you have helped to developed based at Nxt?
If so, that means just have the Nxt-Client open and the "Mining-Browser" and than the mining will work?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Well the question was asked a few years ago. If D.J.Bernstein would have known a flaw, he probably would have noted that.

U confuse modified Curve25519-based EC-KCDSA algo and its implementation.

So u r asking if the implementation is secure?

Also some maths that some anonymous forum members have come up with is not what at least my 5 BTC is for.
If you mean me, my sole intention in analyzing the signing/verifying process was to find the bug that makes the mechanism fail sometimes. It was not an analysis how secure the whole thing is.

Attention Devs, Senior members, and Stake holders,

 I have a proposal for Real World marketing purposes and have written an outline with costs here;

https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3441.msg32673.html#msg32673

 Proposal brief:

Informative postcards to be handed out at conventions and other crypto gatherings, with bullet point NXT features, an easy to follow URL containing more details, a walk through to install the latest NXT client with hash sum, and most importantly a secure, redeemable code to instantly obtain a "premium amount" of coins, ie 20NXT

The marketing project will be open to all interested parties who wish to apply for and distribute cards at their event. Cards will be customized with date and location, and shipped at no cost to them.
Sign up data will be saved and reported upon, analyzing interest per event, and promotion efforts.

I am currently looking for partners to handle:
 Web and Database Programming
 European and Asian Translations
 European and Asian Distribution
 Funding

Thanks and looking forward to your replies!

I will help with funding. I have received some donations for VPS hosting that more than cover that so I can give some back to help with this.

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550
At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.
This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

Are any of you technical and articulate folks able to make it for Friday if funds are not an issue? This is such a huge opportunity, and I would love to see someone like Anon or JoeFox there. I bet we can pull together some funds to get one of you there if you're able to clear your schedule. I would gladly chip in a couple hundred $-worth of Nxt, and I think others definitely would as well.

I am technical and articulate and have been slowly sifting through source code to understand things better, BUT I don't feel like I could field questions from cryptographers or software engineers without imploding.  I can talk about Nxt, and some of the challenges it faces, but the CfB-BCNext filter is a little too opaque to be useful for understanding the deep fundamentals (after only two months of this stuff, the exhaustion is overwhelming: "the source code is the whitepaper!", "community must decide", "Enigma!", "Tease!", "u are incorrect check thread for answers plz", "wait for third part of plan", "many riddles in the source if you look", etc.)

I'd say some nice things about Nxt, and then one guy would raise his hand and ask "can you explain the rationale behind basing a cryptocurrency on a mix of Curve25519, EC-KCDSA, and SHA-256 when no papers exist that assess the semantic security of that particular Diffie-Hellman key exchange algorithm, and it is has only traditionally been favoured for its calculation speeds?", and I would suddenly smell toast and collapse into an apoplectic heap, muttering "just ask Beyonce it all comes from Beyonce" and weeping.  THEN watch the price.

It's a real Catch-22.  Getting a chance to take part in a panel that would be included in the (always awesome and SO VALUABLE) Let's Talk Bitcoin podcast is *exquisite*, but the person to talk about the advent and future of metacoins is currently living in Belarus and busy until April.

MY VOTE would be for someone like wesley, ferment, opticalcarrier, rickyjames or ricot.

I was not meaning you or anyone else - and any efforts to analyze relevant algorithms are of course appreciated - it is simply not what I have offered 5 BTC towards.

I'd say BECAUSE of the undefined qualities of NXT, the things that CfB hints about but are not yet reveled, That any one outside of the Dev Team is going to get themselves in more trouble than its worth on stage at a Q&A like this, and will only let the FUD spread.

People like answers to questions before they spend their money. better to not be involved than to be on stage saying "i dunno, i dunno"

I agree. Only C-f-B or BCNext could do this. NXT would come off badly in a beauty competition right now. Mastercoin and the others would make NXT look badly organised, which would be unfair.

I disagree.  It's better to have someone there who understands the history, current main features along, and differences between the other coins is helpful.  Just don't hype the future plans too much as who knows if they will turn out to be vaporware or not at this stage.  A little mystery about Nxt isn't bad, it's intriguing.

Nifty could do it. Just be prepared to say I don't know if facing too technical questions . Many loyal nxters could point out many next features and advantages compared to other alternatives. Nifty is one of them. Clearly better than no one there to present.

Hey guys this is NiftyNikel

While I would be more than happy to be part of a team with a dev to field questions, I feel that me alone would not be a good idea. While I am technically minded, I am no where near a dev level to be able to articulate the inner workings of the protocol or it's advanced features. Since this is more geared towards the technical side, I say we need to get a dev out there for the panel.

I would be willing to chip in to get a dev there and be on the panel with them, but time is limited and something needs to happen soon. Like others have said, this is an amazing opportunity for Nxt and we should do everything possible to get a dev there.

a few different topics now that Im caught up after a nights rest...

1) on the subject of finding someone to look for a flaw in NXT's implementation of curve transaction/block signing:  Perhaps is best to offer a base fee for the work, with bonus paid for each flaw?  This seems least shady.

2) Perhaps whoever represents NXT in Miami this weekend can look for someone.  Id really like to go an meet NiftyNikel, especially since I just found out hes a network engineer as I am.  But this is the last weekend of deer season, its the rut here locally, and Im not going to miss it.

3)So I tried what you guys said yesterday, sent some NXT to BTER, converted to BTC then put in an order to buy NXT after it dropped.  I make almost 100 NXT.  Nowhere near enough to justify the stress on me this expedition took.  I wont be doing it again.

Lakshmi uses Nxt blocks. U generate only coins. And this requires 1 NXT fee to store the info in Nxt blockchain via AM.
