Static shares also needed for protection of rights of shareholders, if CEO-changing-something-like'll happen. Yeah, they still need to find CEO/company for exchange their shares for real product if we're talking about issuer-producer (or take real-life voting backed by their shares about company stategy if we're talking about pure investing), ofc. But static amount don't let a new guy in charge to print new shares for his friends. I think, u got me.

Berlin (2) Hive, BitAngels and Mastercoin guys, + many many others. We ale looking for a speaker at the San Francisco conf Everyone is so excited about Nxt, it is easy with nice T-shirts we have thanks tu admiral.fu Texas guys are here, so the speaker is for sure. Still only 2 Barbie girls, so not much fun, only business talks... Can you take some pictures? I'd like to have some to liven up today's summary! Don't need faces if you don't want to be in them, just some of the conference itself is also good.

when a clone can compete with its parent with no conceivable advantage, this is very dangerous indeed for the idea of digital scarcity. this is very troubling. Dogecoin is far more popular than Peercoin, it's been pretty much determined to climb up. It does actually have great advantage: popularity. Basically Peercoin has no marketing...Nxt cannot suffer the same faith...we have to adopt Dogecoin marketing best practices. doge needs marketing because it has no substance. we don't need marketing because we do have substance. granted we need to communicate the relevant facts about nxt in a calm and orderly fashion to those who are not aware of those facts. i suppose you could call that marketing. but this is what marketing means to doge, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3oiThw2RxE this we absolutely do not need. Hey all, been lurking. Whole household passing on the winter's flu. All better now. I just wanted to agree with Anon's post on marketing for NXT> I am wholly on board with NXT and agree it needs marketing, but we need to be patient with our efforts because it is simply not ready for a mainstream push. We have so many half formed yet brilliant concepts, that all we are selling is belief at this point. Belief is not a marketable device. We need to bide our time, share with other cryptogeeks, and really work on our clients, features, and wallets. Look at the blow out about Maxcoin, no wallet, no mining, people SHIT all over it. If we push too hard with only this thread and our information websites, with all our talk of futuretech, people are going to be turned off. my 2nxt

Although I agree with James that for some kinds of "assets" it makes sense to be able to effectively "add more quantity" but it does not make sense for things that are "shares" and in fact it would be very dangerous to allow that as your shares could just suddenly become worthlessly diluted by the issuer.
Perhaps for your cases James just issue 1 Billion in the first place and put up "asks" only for those that you have "stock" for at any current time.
What? Issuing new shares is a very common thing Agreed. But don't you think we need to differentiate between fixed/dynamic assets? We also need some contract or bond asset with fixed lifetime.

On the ClieNXT front, the lack of paste function, at least in the Mac version, makes it's use very painful.

It's a Mac Java thing, not just ClieNXT. ctrl-V (like the PC) works, don't use the usual Mac cmd-V.

Reply from Matthijs van Duin regarding curve To the various people who asked me the same question within a very short timespan (I have trouble believing it can be a coincidence),
I've done a quick search of my computers and I'm afraid I can't immediately locate the sources you requested. If I can find a moment I'll check some old backups. It's probably still *somewhere* but it'll take some time to dig through them and I am rather busy at the moment.
Regards, Matthijs
