Why changing that data at all? If one issues an asset, IMHO the issuer must pay attention to a lot of things. So, the description will be one of them.

Yeah the description is pretty much the business plan and contract rolled in one.

If you issue "1oz .999 GOLD" it can not be changed to "1oz LEAD" or even "1oz .99 GOLD", because then you would be watering down the value.

You can't demand that everyone plays by the rules you set for yourself. Well, you can, but I don't think it will help at all.

He is asking for donations, and if he hires people, that is normal.

Dogecoin understands this intimately with their recent charity drives and news.  I've made the phone calls (my experience can be tracked through both Feathercoin and Peercoin) and it's always the same thing... they want something big to write about.

There's a reason professional poker focused so much on charity events as it fought to become more mainstream. The goodwill generated from events like this make life much easier for PR teams.  If this community decides to pass on it, that's fine.. but it's a mistake from an ROI perspective. It's not about the event, it's about everything around it.

As for Blue Cantrell, well, that's entirely different point. While I appreciate (and live) geek culture, mainstream news that covers mainstream audiences is exactly who I would like to target.

Fantastic! I'm just waiting for Salsacz to give me a donation address (he's keeping it in escrow) and I'll make the formal launch! We'll be able to write press releases around topics like:

- Bitcoin competitor Nxt raises $10k to support sick children
- Nxt donates $10k to children's charity Songs of Love

We could do interviews with the foundation, put the charity information prominently on the website, use pics from the event in future marketing. Once we start breaking through it becomes much easier to get other writers on board with future news.  This is not about 1 event, it's about kicking off the PR in high gear. The community wants results, I'm laying out a solid blueprint on how to make it happen.

Not only would we gain press before the event (which would open doors to a number of different writers), we would get media exposure at the event. I need to work out the details this weekend, but yeah... I'm pumped.  If Dogecoin can raise $30k for a bobsled team, I see no reason we can't raise $10k+.

1) Does the NXT community want to throw cash out now on mainstream marketing? The clients are all good, but we are still a long way from being ready to attract and keep Joe Public on the NXT boat. Conferences seem to be a very good use of marketing right now, that and getting the tech up and running....

2) Do we want to be associated with this event anyway ? I know some NXT'ers are totally against charity marketing.

Again: put some more work into it, engage with the NXT community about it, put in requests for funds if u get a positive response.
U can't expect NXT , at this stage, to just throw large piles of cash at every mainstream marketing tool that comes along and asks for it.

But upon thinking about it, the Asset would need a website, with a prospectus, plans, goals, and reports for the users and prospective buyers.
 
Anon is planning on offering services as a Silver Bullion Gateway. If he created an IPO for his company, and received backing, then released shares, the shares would not be based on Silver price so much, they would be based on the amount of business he does, his reputation, and his cost of doing said business. The silver/NXT AE would be a SEPARATE asset, paired at market price. That ASSET description can not change. The value that buyers give to his asset, ie number of NXT vs 10oz Silver bars, will fluctuate, but the asset itself will remain 10oz Silver bars.


If he was EARNING 100NXT a day from the transactions, he could make plans to expand into GOLD or other precious metals, and therefore drive the value of AnonAsssetsInc upwards, and it would be important to know his business plans.

Real world example.

Barrel of Oil is an COMMODITY> 55gal drums. It has a set price ~ $110 lately right? Oil's price fluctuates on Supply and Demand.

EXXON is a COMPANY that drills oil. Exxon can't change the size, or function of OIL, it can only find more, process it more efficiently etc. Exxon's price fluctuates on earnings, profit, loss, future plans and general market principles.
