Is anyone knowing what we paid for?

Yes. Refactoring, consulting, some extra functionality like API calls.

how do we know you actually delivered what BCNext has paid for is better formulated.

how do we know you did all what he asked? Grin

Who will communicate with BCNext in April after CFB departs?

Uncertainty about the core dev team isn't instilling much confidence in investors and current holders. Investors will stay away until this confusion and uncertainty disappears.

Friends of mine have no idea which client to download so are keeping their NXT on exchanges. They won't do anything until there is a one click install that works. They ask me which one is the 'main' website. All they want is to Send/Receive and not lose any NXT. No messing around with batch files, firewall settings, testnet and having to update twice a week. They don't even want to know about forging.

I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to promote one simple client that works and isn't going to freak out newbies. Can someone design a simple, safe, client that just sends and receives? I can assure you that would make so many people happy. Most newcomers aren't going to use all the other features they don't even understand, at least not yet. Forging is not an issue for them and don't care about that because they own 5k to 10k. None of their other coin wallets make any money and they don't expect NXT to either. They just want to send and receive and know their wallet is safe (secure password of course) It's that simple.

Does this make sense to anyone and does anyone have any ideas about how we arrive at one website and one simple client.

All my friends asks the same Smiley

I agree completely with all of the above.. 5-6 people that I got into NXT are asking me the same question. For 3 of them I am holding NXT because they are freaked out they will mess up something since and lose their investment. Problem with a client exist. i mean we are launching an AE and we still don't have a go to client. And one might say how we have several clients out there, but they are all half working or if I am wrong than we should just choose the best one and offer it to the people..

Nexern client I won't even mention anymore. I doubt we will ever see it.

I dont like to spam but Offspring is currently fully functional, it has a wallet to store your keys and it shows you how much of the blockchain has downloaded in a progressbar in the statusbar. There is no one-click installer (yet) but all you need to do is unzip and double click the executable.

Yes but we as a community need to make a consensus. This is the one, we trust it and lets all use it. And push it out to the newcomers. I am telling you that with the distribution FUD that I am reading this is a number 2 reason why people don't get any further into NXT. For many people this is just to high tech. Also, to update all the NRS software's and to make all the batch files and solve the http/https problems etc.. you have to read this thread daily and that comes as a second job. Not everyone have time for that and majority even if they find time, they don't have confidence in their tech abilities.

I repeat we need a community agreed one click installer client which is safe and simple and we need it ASAP!!

cool man I didnt realize you had changed your functionality to move the private passphrase/key info completely from your server.  But why do you force to create an account though, with username/password?  Why not just let user click on a JS link that prompts for a passphrase and returns an accountID to the user?

oh yeah i herped and derped on that one.  thats a good idea...

Any changes to nxt.properties comparing with 0.8.3?
Compared to 0.8.3? Several properties related to testnet were added in 0.8.4e, and also for the jetty DoSFilter. Compared to 0.8.5, only defined a few default testnet nodes.

You can now blacklist in nxt.properties:

# Known bad peers to be blacklisted
nxt.knownBlacklistedPeers=

OK, seems working. On my Android stick used nxt.properties from 0.8.3. Don't care much running public node about AE. You can test at http://217.17.88.5:7875/

New version of my web interface available for download: http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/dev.zip

I haven't change the interface at http://nxtra.org/nxt-client yet though, will do that tomorrow.

Anyway, I haven't pushed this to bitbucket yet because I need to fix a few more bugs. If anyone is willing to test, place the unzipped files in nxt/html/tools/dev

Then connect to testnet (by editing nxt-default.properties) and try everything out.

It now comes with skin abilities, I made this when testnet was down, obviously not a high priority, but still.. Eventually it will be possible to customize the boxes, background, and tables as well.

For now, just the sidebar and header are customizable. There's a bug though if you go to settings and try to customize default sidebar/header it won't work. Will fix that tomorrow.

Again, test on TESTNET.

Donations are appreciated at 8189784314684138350 - thank you!

More I think about Pooled Forging, more I don't like it. Does anyone have any ideas where this could lead to?
I think it makes exactly ZERO sense, for such a currency.
Totally clueless about why do people want it.

Maybe, it's best to defer the release of this functionality until somebody can provide a VERY VERY good reason why we should need it AND many others agree.

I hope so and thanks!!   Grin

Re: NXT for Dummies

Ok Pinarello, 'we will have one soon'. Good. So, when I tell new investors to go to nxtcrypto.org and download the client, will this be it?

At the moment it's NRS 0.8.3, which got updated again 5 minutes ago.  Undecided This is where we are stumbling. New investors will NOT put up with this?

NRS is not for newbies and this should be taken off the main site as soon as we have a working client. And people will post that we do have working clients but there is always something that puts people off like updates.

Can you promise me that nxtcrypto.org will have a NXT Client for Dummies (99% humans) as soon as possible??
