New version of my web interface available for download: http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/dev.zipI haven't change the interface at http://nxtra.org/nxt-client yet though, will do that tomorrow. Anyway, I haven't pushed this to bitbucket yet because I need to fix a few more bugs. If anyone is willing to test, place the unzipped files in nxt/html/tools/dev Then connect to testnet (by editing nxt-default.properties) and try everything out. It now comes with skin abilities, I made this when testnet was down, obviously not a high priority, but still.. Eventually it will be possible to customize the boxes, background, and tables as well. For now, just the sidebar and header are customizable. There's a bug though if you go to settings and try to customize default sidebar/header it won't work. Will fix that tomorrow. Again, test on TESTNET. Donations are appreciated at 8189784314684138350 - thank you! Niiiicee

More I think about Pooled Forging, more I don't like it. Does anyone have any ideas where this could lead to?
I think it makes exactly ZERO sense, for such a currency. Totally clueless about why do people want it. Maybe, it's best to defer the release of this functionality until somebody can provide a VERY VERY good reason why we should need it AND many others agree.

We will have one soon!
I hope so and thanks!! Re: NXT for Dummies Ok Pinarello, 'we will have one soon'. Good. So, when I tell new investors to go to nxtcrypto.org and download the client, will this be it? At the moment it's NRS 0.8.3, which got updated again 5 minutes ago. This is where we are stumbling. New investors will NOT put up with this? NRS is not for newbies and this should be taken off the main site as soon as we have a working client. And people will post that we do have working clients but there is always something that puts people off like updates. Can you promise me that nxtcrypto.org will have a NXT Client for Dummies (99% humans) as soon as possible??

Who the f*** is panda.nxtbase.com and why does he broadcast blocks every hour or so that get "Failed to accept block XXXXX"
Can't blacklist this shitty node.
This is going on for days..
You can now blacklist in nxt.properties: # Known bad peers to be blacklisted nxt.knownBlacklistedPeers= Thank you, will try!

Good thinking. But Is there a way to cheat this with a modified client? How does the network punish/prevent someone from modifying the code to allow their instance to pool as much as they want
I believe the network should easily be able to validate what hes describing such that these types of shenanigans are impossible. But I dont understand the need/logic of limiting total forging power. What is the goal behind that?

Any changes to nxt.properties comparing with 0.8.3?
Compared to 0.8.3? Several properties related to testnet were added in 0.8.4e, and also for the jetty DoSFilter. Compared to 0.8.5, only defined a few default testnet nodes. OK, seems working. On my Android stick used nxt.properties from 0.8.3. Don't care much running public node about AE. You can test at http://217.17.88.5:7875/But the idea is that you unpack the zip file and let the new conf/nxt-default.properties overwrite the previous conf/nxt-default.properties, which shouldn't be modified by you. Your custom settings go into nxt.properties, and this will not be overwritten as it is not in the zip package.

Lol, you're fast You know what took the longest time? The upload to bitbucket. Your client looks really slick btw. I wish I could do that in SWT, we do have CSS styling in the client but that will never look as good as a web based client.

Windows Installer for Nxt 0.8.6 released. https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,1902.0.htmlIf there is any interest I could throw together an installer with Wesley's interface set to testnet by default. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Release 0.8.6 http://download.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.8.6.zipsha256: ecdce17e2d1cd704fce3b7e40d458c1c8b80a1cf064eb8f4f5e7f6593166dba8 Change log: Transaction re-broadcasting has been broken for a few releases, should work again now. Fixed the update of the NRS UI transaction confirmation count. Check for unconfirmed transaction becoming invalid, and if so, remove them from the unconfirmed transactions pool. Instead of pooled forging, can you port over multisig? That is much more important than pooled forging, since there are alternate solutions for that. Multisig is pretty fundamental.
Why do we need 2 ways to do a multisig? Redundancy and time to market. I dont like using AT for multisig because that will cost extra to execute the AT. it also has more moving parts and maybe even a delay for a block waiting for AT. There is room for a simpler built in multisig and a flexible AT based supersig If the code is there, might as well use it James I somehow agree with James. I would like a hardcoded version of mutlisig. Please, do not ask my why. Maybe, I see it like this: 1) AT = universal, can do everything, no control, slow, expensive 2) NXT core = restricted, functionality which needs fast execution, cheap, multisig seems like it should be 'build-in'

I was looking forward to Pooled Forging for one very simple reason: To forge on a VPS without exposing the private key to my primary NXT account...
am I the only one who thinks forging on a VPS is a bad idea? I completely agree with you. I don't currently forge on a VPS and will not unless I can do so safely. Did you read my proposal? In example case would only put 10 NXT at risk, but forging on behalf of 185,010. And, the 10 NXT probably not even necessary... Maybe this is the ONLY use case for pooled forging. It is for letting people split their NXT into a bunch of accts to minimize any damage losing a single account would cause. Then then can create a forging acct even on some public shared server, but only risking 10 NXT. Basically pooled forging would just be for personal use and not intended for different people to pool. Now, if the API for this had a destination acct for any fees earned, then the security of the 10 NXT forging acct is not that important. It could even be done on a webwallet acct. The restriction is that all destination accts have to be the same. This way, nobody exposes their password on a VPS, but everybody can forge with 100% of their NXT all the time as long as the webwallet site enables forging for all the accts. James
