how do we know you actualy delivered what BCNext has paid for is better formulated.

how do we know you did all what he asked? Grin

U can't know that. But... I recall that u said that I am BCNext, so if I paid myself for doing something then I could change the agreement any way I wish, coz both the parties would agree on that.  Cheesy

not necessarily.  how sane are you?

with or without his pills? Cheesy

Didn't this depend on their colors? Wink

Just for the records: how do you want community to decide?

Voting. We have VS.

Ok. Where can I vote?

Good question. Where?

Not in production yet, only on the testnet.

Any changes to nxt.properties comparing with 0.8.3?
Compared to 0.8.3? Several properties related to testnet were added in 0.8.4e, and also for the jetty DoSFilter. Compared to 0.8.5, only defined a few default testnet nodes.

OK, seems working. On my Android stick used nxt.properties from 0.8.3. Don't care much running public node about AE. You can test at http://217.17.88.5:7875/
But the idea is that you unpack the zip file and let the new conf/nxt-default.properties overwrite the previous conf/nxt-default.properties, which shouldn't be modified by you. Your custom settings go into nxt.properties, and this will not be overwritten as it is not in the zip package.

Yea, I know, but I'm a little bit lazy to make a lot of procedures with stick radio mouse Smiley

Anyone can also simply put my web wallet online. Well, they'll have to wait until there's client side encryption, but when that is done, can be used without issue. Even simpler, simply download the HTML folder, open index.html and connect to any public node there is. (Again, when client side encryption is completed). No exe needed.. but of course then you don't have java server local. Good enough for newbies though!

when is this going to happen?

I got some code from BloodyRookie to do client side encryption, but I haven't yet looked into it deeply. I was going to contact Zahlen and a few other people to help, just didn't find the time to do that. Also, I may perhaps have to wait for CFB until he makes his prepareTransaction API call available, as that would make it easier.

I hope that this API returns error messages in case there is a mistake, and raw bytes if there aren't. Then when returned those bytes would have to be signed by the password and this can be broadcasted out.

It's also possible to do this without prepareTransaction, but that's going to create a lot of duplicate code and client side error checking is required, so I'm not sure if that's a good solution.. I think it's best to wait for the prepareTransaction API. (This api takes all parameters except the user password).

please let QBTC know when you have something working, and she can get it posted.  use vps1 - vps12 on .nxtcrypto.org for API calls.  Those 12 servers are split between 3 different companies, and lots of different locations, so its a redundancy option for us.

Can we get a web designer to create a page as a framework to use for it?  Or are you planning on doing that?  Any volunteers for HTML?

CFB, are you the only one communicating with BCNext? Who will be in touch with him when you depart in 3 1/2 weeks?

He had left the day before Nxt source code became public. Went for good to work on other things. I'll get 3rd part of the plan in April but I can't contact him anymore.

Instead of whining about the big holders not footing the bill for all the work that needs to be done, maybe we should see how much the community at large is willing to invest in developing a client, then ask if one or 2 whales would be willing to match funds? For example, if a bunch of participants in this thread make pledges totaling, say, 500,000 NXT, one of the 50Mil holders could match that, making for a total of 1 million to go to the person or persons who can deliver a working, user-friendly client. I, for one, would be willing to contribute 500 NXT

There are already a ton of clients, are you saying they are all bad?..

I dont know if this is relevant...but there is someone who is stealing nxtcoins from "bad-protected" accounts.

I've just created an account with the pass: "mtvraps" to check and play. I made the nxtra.org faucet and they sent me 2nxt to this account "14345877598619007537". One minute after, someone sent these 2nxtcoins to other account (of course it was not me). The account was: "1413811113623034318".  I suppose there is a bot checking all the possible weak passwords...

It could be funny but......TAKE CARE!

I'm not a coder and I have no knowledge of softwaresecurity....but is there an option to use a 2w-factor-verification? Securityweakness could be the most dangerous problem to NXT mass adaption.

Seems so. I can't catch his changes, so I don't contribute much. Smiley

CORE DEV TEAM

Some questions:

1, How could one join? Whom to contact?
2, Are there any candidates?
3, Do we have a bounty for them? Unclaimed coins or should we put together some Nxt for this?

I would like CIYAM to join the team. Any other suggestions?

When we know whom to contact in order to get the core dev team together and we have the candidates, I will contact them one by one asking them if they would be interested.

AFAIK there is only Jean-Luc actively working on the core. Am I right?

@jean-luc:

Could you change lines 124 and 125 of nxt / src / java / nxt / http / TransferAsset.java

from:

        Attachment attachment = new Attachment.ColoredCoinsAssetTransfer(asset, quantity);
to:
        String comment = req.getParameter("comment");
        if ( comment != null )
                Attachment attachment = new Attachment.ColoredCoinsAssetTransfer(asset, quantity, comment);
        else  Attachment attachment = new Attachment.ColoredCoinsAssetTransfer(asset, quantity);

I believe the above change will allow an optional comment to be added to the transferAsset API
If this is not the case, please let me know.

this explaines why he also stopped logging to his original 3 years old account 3 days before release of the source

I just made a proposed change to the core

Its really quite well organized. It only took me 10 minutes to figure out where to put the change for an optional comment for transferAsset API call. Not sure I got it right, but hopefully will find out soon and learn from any mistake.

Changes dealing with fractional assets or denominating trades in another asset would be a lot more involved, but I could try to see how much work it will be.
