It's a mistake to use physics terminology to describe what comes down to choices made by people. The market is pretty shallow - just one or two people without very much wealth, choosing to buy or sell can dramatically affect prices, as things stand. Since there are over a million coins out there, that means the vast majority of the people have mined and are holding for the long haul. One thing is for sure - the scarcity is coded to be equal to Bitcoin, so how high it can go up is purely a matter of demand - if more people over time decide the just gotta have some CATs, they will bid the prices higher. Remember that Bitcoins languished in the $1 range for a couple of years, until demand started picking up. Think before selling low. If you are not desperate, don't make desperation moves.

I don't anyone could have predicted this from just understanding the market -- some people were just better prepared to take advantage of it. For every coin that bounces back, there are plenty more that stay in the gutter |
