Leetpool seems to be down again, "Pool not responding" error!

... same here Leetpools is up and down. Last 15 minutes like about 7 times. This cost us all miners a lot of coins (read: money)....

Is there not a down-proof pool ?

There are not a huge number of pools as of yet.   It seems these ddos are happening each day.
I've been doing well with a few failovers.  It seems random as to which pools go down, but usually nitro gets hit.
use this in the .bat to have the miner auto-switch if a pool fails.

-o stratum+tcp://ultra.leetpools.com:3333 -u weblogin.worker -p workerpassword -o stratum+tcp://utc.greekpool.eu:3337 -u weblogin.worker -p workerpassword -o stratum+tcp://utc.idcray.com:10001 -u weblogin.worker -p workerpassword -o stratum+tcp://ultra.coinsnipers.com:3339 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Workerpassword -o stratum+tcp://ultra.minepools.us:5301 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Workerpassword --failover-only

If pools go back up, it will revert back to first pool in the list, so you can order how you like.  I've not lost much of any mining time with using 3 pools.
Hope this helps.

Can someone recommend a pair of decent Euro based pools ... getting tons of rejects on http://utc.idcray.com/ & http://ultra.leetpools.com/ (the ones I have tried so far) seems to be up and down like a whores knickers!

utc.greekpool.eu probably would have the best ping for you.  idcray has poor ping.  See above for failovers;  maybe try;  greek, leet, minepools, idcray.

Also, in case you haven't make sure you add --expiry between 5-10 (default is 120) that could help if not set already.

Side note:  Leetpools back up.

Idcray, greekpool, coinsnipers, and minepools were all stable through this

http://ultra.leetpools.com is back.

Again, if you are having trouble connecting to stratum via .com, please set the .net stratum address.

Had to take the server down for a moment to implement some new security features.

We apologize for the downtime and any inconvenience caused.

need to add --failover-only end of line ?

It can go anywhere after the pool entries.  In fact you don't "have" to add it, but many do.   You could have it in the middle though, doesn't matter:
This is my config for 7950's

ultracoinminer -o stratum+tcp://ultra.leetpools.com:3333 -u user.x -p x -o stratum+tcp://utc.greekpool.eu:3337 -u x -p x -o stratum+tcp://utc.idcray.com:10001 -u x -p x --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 --thread-concurrency 32256 -g 1 -I 20 -w 512  --failover-only --gpu-powertune 20 --scan-time 0 --expiry 8 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale --gpu-dyninterval 6

failover is in the middle

IMHO leetpools.com has been one of the most stable pools out there despite all the DDoS attacks. I've had a lot of hashrate there on and off with barely a hiccup. They're doing sterling work under difficult circumstances.

Ultracoin is now listed at place #23 on http://coinmarketcap.com actual market cap and volume are even higher as they're using coinmarket.io and not crypto-trade.com for data.

Anyone know why a miner gets banned? I have been mining Leetpool for last 24 hours and it banned one of my miner rigs, had to restart the rig but it was sitting idle for almost a hour before I caught it.

We it set to ban the worker for a temporary amount of time if stale/invalid/bad shares pass a 50% threshhold. (This is to protect the pool)

Please double check your ultra/cgminer settings that they are correct, the ban lifts are automatic.
