My computer:
Intel Pentium G680n 3.00 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
64 Bit Windows
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
Driver: 13.251.0.0

Running Vertcoin-CGMinerAleks_NR3

Settings:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://crunchpool.mooo.com:9171 -u VXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -p x --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 -I 9 --thread-concurrency 3072

MAX hashrate I can get, without causing display driver to crash or other malfunction such as cgminer not starting or getting errors, is about 13~15Kh/s

Any thoughts? Do I need more RAM? Am I doing something wildly wrong? I admit some of my cgminer settings are just pulled out of thin air.

why doesnt vertminer apply 2 gpu threads to both my cards?  Both cards were running at 300khs and I realized i was running w/o the option and added it in and restarted the miner.  gpu 0 is running at 350 khs but gpu2 is still at 290~300.  Seems like its only applying to the 1 card.  This is vertminer 0.5.2

Im using this

{
"pools" : [
   {
      "url" : "stratum+tcp://XXX",
      "user" : "XX",
      "pass" : "XX"
   }

]
,
"intensity" : "12",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"expiry" : "30",
"scan-time" : "5",
"thread-concurrency" : "6400"
}

and am only getting about 220 each 7970/280x... ive got my clocks set as they would be for mining ~700kh/s on regular scrypt. Anyone have any advice? When i set it to 13 intensity i get HW errors... im surprised this is so low. Thought just to mine middlecoin, then but VTC on an exchange at this rate.

Try TC of 8192.

I get 360 Kh/s with my 7970 (flashed to 280x)

TC 8192
g 2
lookup gap 2
clock at 1000
mem at 1490

Intensity of 13

Also once you apply these settings restart the machine before try it.

Thouse are the best settings for me
R9 280x :
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://POOL -u USER.Worker -p PASS -v 1 -w 256 -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune -20,-20 --gpu-fan 59,50 --temp-overheat 85,85 --temp-cutoff 90,90 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 --gpu-engine 1000,1000 --thread-concurrency 8193
341kh/s

R9 290 :
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://POOL -u User.Worker -p PASS -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24550 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 10 -v 1 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 83 --temp-target 78

447 kh/s

If i helped someone out if u want to tip : VfUzaU29Ri4oFGhBPLHsmsqMqh97uZ4wbS

is OCing for 290s unstable for 24/7 mining? I am still using stock clock&memory setting for my R9 and getting 430 for some gold cards and 420 avg for others

Lower the intensity. That will let it breathe a bit. Then creep it back up. Should be getting kh/s in the hundreds. I find these cards have a little "flashback" when changing code. Sometimes you need to jolt them back to life by changing one thing (as simple as 10 difference on core clock). I can run the same script 10 times and get a few different results. Its odd.

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -d 0 -H 2 -C 1 -l T12x20 -i 0

GTX 670 overclocked to 1200mhz (using CPU for sha256) = ~155kh/s
cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt:2048 -d 1 -H 1 -l K35x6 -i 0

Use these!

Anyone having stability issues running with 7950 ?
Running 4x 7950 with 4GB RAM.
I'm constantly having sick/dead card with sapphire 7950, it was fine working with scrypt up to 1100/1500 @1.1V
I downclock to 1025/1500 and still get sick/dead.
Not really sure what to try next besides downclocking again ?
Will adding RAM give more stability ?
It's mixed feeling to get the hang of this miner things are different.
Like changing I from 19 to 18 gives me the same hashrate.

I'm not fooling around with a 7950, but I've found that you sometimes need o drastically lower your Intensity and then build back up. For example, on a 7870 i get HW errors on 12 if my previous setting was 13, but not if I am moving from 11 to 12.

I'm mining hk.vertco.in

I've been mining ~330khash for about an hour or so and don't see any confirmed or unconfirmed coin in my account, is this normal?

Or does it sometimes take a while to see anything there??

Cheers.  Smiley

cgminer --scrypt -v 1 -I 19,13 -g 2 -Q 9 -s 60 -E 120 -w 256,256 --lookup-gap 2,2 --shaders 1536,2048 --thread-concurrency 8000,8192

the above is what i've been using for all other scrypt mining. it generally gets me 1,200kh/s

gpu 0 is an HD 6970 @ 930/1500 (500kh/s)
gpu 1 is an HD 7970 @ 1000/1500 (700kh/s)

i would like to mine vertcoin.

wat do?

is no one else w/ dual gpus noticing an issue with cgminer or vertminer like i am?  I switched back to cgminer and I have the same issue.  enabled -g 2 and gpu 0 runs about 50-70khs faster than gpu 1.  I even tried physically swapping cards but it does the same thing.  even tried running 2 separate instances of cg and vertminer w/ -d 0 and -d 1 switches but gpu 1 still runs slower.  when mining doge i had both running at 725-750 at the same time.

Trying to get vertminer running on BAMT..

Works, using https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu.. but weird

cgminer (vertminer) doesn't show the fan speeds.  but it DOES seem to autocorrect.

At the same time, have to go into gpumon to see temps.

And one of my old 7950s seemed to do something pretty wrong, fan was spinning up to 100% quickly and then stopping, check temp - 96C.

anyone else having issues with temp's not being seen in cgminer/vertminer?

I just took all my scrypt configs but made thread-conncurency +1, so basically for ASUS 280x:

intensity 13
worksize 256
lookup-gap 2
thread-concurrency 8193
shaders 2048
gpu-threads 2
gpu-engine 1080
gpu-memclock 1500
gpu-powertune 0

gets me almost exactly half of my regular scrypt hashrate, ~385 kh/sec per card.

edit : Reboot because i thought maybe that would get it to show temps.  Nope, and now hashrate back to 250 kh/sec, EXACT SAME SETTINGS.

edit2 : oh duh, realized i was following a guide too letter-by-letter.. copy ADL files in before running ./buildit.sh, not after, even if they say after.

LTC bounty for those who help me get vertminer-gpu working in linux

having a weird issue after building it where when I try to run my .sh file I get:

vert.shL 5L vert.sh: /home/me/Downloads/vertminer-gpu/vertminer: not found

looks like that executable file never gets created in the build process...

EDIT: PM me

I have some WF3 7950s that I'm trying to configure.  I am able to get a maximum of 188k, which is disappointing since they do 685k scrypt.  I expected over 300k.

I've fiddled with all the settings, can't get better.  Any pointers would be great!

My bat file for one of the cards:

set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o vtc.poolz.net:3333 -u xxxx -p yyyy -d 0 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 10240 -v 1 -w 256 -g 2 --shaders 2048  --lookup-gap 2 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-cutoff 90 --remove-disabled

Thanks.

The only thing I've needed to change for Vertcoin is thread concurrency. These seem to be the optimal ones for the cards I've tried so far:
R9 290: 24550
7950: 19712
5850: 5120

Thanks for the 5850 TC. 5120 seems to be the only one that works.

just started mining this and I was wondering if half of the speed you get running scrypt is normal? Also it really slows down the pc compared to scrypt.

my 5850 normally does about 320 kh/s and with this coin it does 160 kh/s, is this normal?

I use this:
--scrypt -o stratum+tcp:// --intensity 16 --gpu-engine 800 --gpu-memclock 1125 --worksize 256 --thread-concurrency 5120 --no-submit-stale --failover-only --queue=0 --scan-time=0 --expiry=1 -g 1
