hi,
I have a Radeon HD5670 and my Hashrate for Vertcoin are very very low (10-12kh/s)
my settings are -I 16 -g 2 -w 128 --thread-concurrency 3048
can anyone help me ?
Can you see "HW" in the miner window and is there a number next to it? This should be 0. Intensity (-i) generally needs to be kept below 13.

I have compiled vertminer into BAMT and have everything running, however my Reject Ratio seems high at about 10-15% is this normal for vertcoin? as when mining anything scrypt based I get 1-2% maximum.

Example:

Total Hash: 1900 Kh/s (5x cards per machine)
Hash: 380 Kh/s per card.

208 total accepted shares
41 total invalid shares
16.466% reject ratio

Hi,

I am running Vertminer 0.5.3 on Xubuntu 12.04. So far no problems. Only one thing that bothers me is that Vertminer is not showing overview of hashrate, fan speed, temperatures, etc. as usual but I get screen of "running" text where actual hashrate is sometimes shown at the very bottom.

http://s15.postimg.org/7zfhl1rrf/vertminer.gif

Do you have any idea what is wrong? Thanks for help.

Do you have libncurses5-dev installed?

I installed mentioned lib but unfotunately with no efect.

Any other idea? Is there someone who runs Linux rig who can share experiences? Thanks.

Did you compile yourself? If so try again now that cursus lib is installed?

Try with thread concurrency of 2048. You can increase intensity until you start getting HW errors.

(You won't get much out of that card as it only hits ~100KH/s mining LTC, apparently.)

Here's my batch.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
COLOR 0A
vertminer -o stratum+tcp://vtc.poolz.net:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxxx -I 12 -w 256 -g 2 -v 1 --thread-concurrency 4448 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500

I'm getting around 170-180 out of each of my 270's except they all get a few HW...
Help?

I have a 270X 2GB. I use -g 1 (single thread instead of two) and --thread-concurrency 9995. Rest the same as you. No HW.
vertminer 0.5.3.

Read this:

Quote
-Version 0.5.3 - 2 February 2014 BETA!!!
 +Version 0.5.3 - 2 February 2014
  - changed automatic TC calculation
  - increased max intensity to 21
  - shaders are now used for intensity calculation
 -  --> if option shaders is set, intensity calculation tries to pad to shaders count (can increase performance but also decrease)
 -  --> of not shaders set, old cgminer intensity calculation is used
+  --> option shaders is set: intensity calculation tries to align to shaders count (can increase performance but also decrease with low intensity)
+  --> shaders NOT set: old cgminer intensity calculation is used
  - opencl changed to keep speed with adaptive nfactor
-- introduced first time dependent nfactor changes in code (not finally done yet)
+- introduced first time dependent nfactor changes in code and opencl kernel (not finally done yet)
  - fix for ADL with R9 cards

Haven't tried yet. Maybe use shader count instead of thread-concurrency?

Try -I 12 and up the thread-concurrency. I would think 8192 is too low for a 3 GB card and one thread.
Use GPU-Z to check dedicated memory count. Or HWinfo (load sensors) if you use Windows 8 +.
If you're using vertminer 0.5.3. Use --shader-count instead of --thead-concurrency.

Getting around around 290/300 kh/s with 7950 sapphire dualx with boost 3GB  No HWs

-I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192  --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500  1.187V VGPU

have same card, can't get more than 8-10 K what am I doing wrong, using underclocking, can usually get 630Khash with normal script

Hi,

Can anyone explain the need for more system memory with the new vertminer?
Is there a formula we can use to determine if adding memory will help with the kh's?
I'm running vertminer and have 3gb's free, is the additional memory requirement just a measure of total memory in the system and not used?
Randomly people are adding in memory and getting better results, it would be great if someone that added memory
into their system posted a measurement of ram used before and after adding it, or someone knowledgeable on the new
algorithm posts an explanation.

I have the following settings on my 2xGigabyte 7950s setup (I got a couple of cards n the shop):
./vertminer -o startum+tcp://stratum.vertco.in:8080 -u -p x -I 13  --thread-concurrency 14777   --gpu-engine 1050  --gpu-memclock 1500

these are the best settings I can get without getting HW errors and all I get is a whopping 327 mhs  Angry!!!!

Apparently everyone has r9 280x now, so I have been having a lot of trouble trying to get better settings around here  Undecided

Would be awesome if more people published their configs for 7950s

Cheers!  Grin

That's not bad. Remember hashrate is half of normal scrypt. Going to try your settings as mine (posted some 20 updates ago) got me a good 250Khs on HD7950's.

--gpu-platform 0 -I 19-w 256 --thread-concurrency 16384  --gpu-engine 1070 --gpu-memclock 1500

8-10Khash/sec same with other 7950 HD posted what gives also using modified cg that vertigo said to use

Also whats up with this 502 Bad GatewayShit, been trying to post for 30 min already?"

I'm a bit surprised by the 7950 results I have been seeing in this thread. I modified almost nothing from my config from when i was mining scrypt, and I fired up vertminer in a modified bamt 1.1 setting (using this mod https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.msg4668635#msg4668635) and here is what I get:

Powercolor 7950 PCS+ - 314.5 kh/s
core/mem 1070/1500,
stock vddc,
thread-concurrency of 21712,
gpu-threads 1,
lookup-gap 1
intensity 20,
worksize 256
temperature is 74C at 59% fan (set to auto)

XFX 7950 DD (TDKC) - 307.7 kh/s
core/mem 1040/1495,
stock vddc,
thread-concurrency of 21712
gpu-threads 1,
lookup-gap 1
intensity 20,
worksize 256
temperature is 73C at 86% fan (set to auto)

No HW errors and a 0.4% reject rate.

I also have a 5770 in the same system running at 83.1 kh/s
core/mem 910/1250,
vddc 1.100,
thread-concurrency of 3100,
gpu-threads 1,
lookup-gap 1
intensity 18,
worksize 256
temperature is 67C (fan not registering a speed apparently. might be too low)

This is all running on a very old system that consists of a DFI NF4 Ultra-D with a single core Opteron 146 CPU and 1GB DDR. I see no correlation between amount of system memory and thread-concurrency settings. My other system runs with 4GB of DDR2 and the results i get for my 7950's in scrypt are the same.

I was starting to wonder if I could go higher by changing my TC, but from what I see, i'm probably pushing the limit already.

I have another rig running 2 more 7950's and a 270x on bamt 1.3. If I have time, I will modify my bamt 1.3 for vertminer and see how it performs.

EDIT: ASUS DirectCU II TOP R9 270X in BAMT 1.3 - 191 kh/s
core/mem 1100/1250,
vddc stock,
thread-concurrency of 12288,
gpu-threads 1,
lookup-gap 1
intensity 19,
worksize 256

where is the total download package because i don't know where to click to find it thx

Using Bamt, the first line for that "hack" that you enter copies vertminer from the net to your usb stick.

If I can actually download it with some help, can I run it like cgminer suchas just from cmd. I have never got a config or batch file to work ever so I just enter my perrimeters in start run cmd on windows and it works fine without a bat or config, but on vertigo, can't get past the 8-10khash. plz help saphire raydon sku 11196-20-19g

Been trying to tweak for my 7990 (2x7970 with 3GB VRAM per GPU), and I can't get more than 470-480 KH/s which is only a third of what I get with normal cgminer/kalroth.

I'm using --intensity 13 --lookup-gap 2 -g 2 -w 184 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 6112

This is the maximum intensity, work memory and TC I can reach without hw-errors. Anyone made better results with 7970/7990?
