2 out of 3 orders are now also on their way to me.
However, they're shipped with DHL instead of UPS (without me asking for it)

For my last 2 orders, UPS didn't calculate any additional custom costs or anything, just delivered for free. Hopefully DHL will do the same...

Are you in the US? There is no customs duty on computer equipment, although I suppose they could still charge a processing fee for customs clearance (which as you say UPS apparently does not).

How much do you think you'll be able to sell an Antminer S1 on ebay for in May/June ?

I'm starting to think I'm crazy for spending 2.9 bitcoins on two Antminers only to barely be able to make 2.9 bitcoins
That's what they said about buying them at 2.2BTC, and I've since paid off 1.5BTC of that. It turns out my estimates of paying them off mid-May were pessimistic, it's looking more like it will be early April instead.

Bitmain always prices the miner at where the miners share a profit with us, though this is not any guaranty, but only intention, only educated guess for the future of mining difficulty. However, it seems that Bitmain's guess is better than those 25%~30% exponential assumption under which the difficulty fly out of the galaxy.

Bitmain, you're the best.

Nope in the EU (Netherlands)

Before I always had to pay a little for each miner, ranging from €30 to €50 (cheaper each time Bitmain adjusted their prices down). The last ones were free, I assume the value of the package was below some kind of threshold so it became free.
Oh well, not too worried yet, as long as it doesn't suddenly show up with big amounts of money for each miner.

Wow, this is a nice and fluffy place (thread) compared to most other rage-vents in the Custom Hardware forum. Smiley

I just got a notice today I have a parcel that they have tried to deliver to my house (and I was not home). I bet it's Ants come knockin' on the door!  Cool

We are mostly all very reasonable people. If a vendor delivers on what they say, has customer service and the hardware and firmware is reliable and well supported it would be nice and fluffy in other Vendor threads as well.

Received the email from UPS My Choice before I got the official word from Bitmain  Smiley  It's great that they used UPS so that I was able to re-route it for pickup at the main station.  No more worries about having a package left in front of my door while I attempt to rush home and intercept it before some strangers do.

Thank you BitMain!!!

I am in need of some help, I did a reset on one of my antminers, and it happened to be an older version that resets to 192.168.2.99.  But when I try to go to that IP address from my computer, it does not reach it.  Is there something I need to change on my computer or router to be able to access the ant?

Thanks in advance.

easiest way to do it is connect a network cable directly from your laptop to the Ant. Change your IP address on your laptop to 192.168.2.111. No need for internet connection on either device.

subnet mask 255.255.255.0

the default gateway on your laptop 192.168.2.111.

Then open your browser to 192.168.2.99 and away you go.  No router needed.

Take a chill pill guys.

You ain't my guy, fella!  I am not going to be happy that orders a WEEK after mine are shipping and I am left paying more and getting later. If they want me to be chill try shipping in order!

SHIPPED!!

damn they stay up late in China, THANKS Bitmain

Looks like he was "your guy" after all, his advice was exactly what you needed to do, other than emailing or PM'ing them rather than ranting all over the forum.

Got to love a vendor with no BS statements on their public website!

" So please don't be pissed off if you buy the S1 then only 1 minutes later the price dropped a little bit. "

Hehe
Today, Bitmain changed the sentence to "So please don't be upset if you buy the S1 then only 1 minutes later the price dropped a little bit. "

Got mine delivered a day early Smiley I just love how simple these things are to setup, less than 5 minutes and I'm up and hashing. Only regret is I didn't order more.

Now that the 1w\ghash machines are hitting the market I might need to save up for one of them next. Hopefully Bitmain releases one because I prefer to give him my BTC since he's such an awesome vendor!

No criticizm or even irony (shock!), just an observation. And you are certainly right... play nice and your customers are nice and friendly. Not so much the other way around. Smiley
