Wait so you buy boards and the PSU? DO you have a setup guide you could link? EDIT: I read some more, the "kit" offers everything, so i'll buy two, since running only 3. Still need to know how to wire as idk how to interface an industrial grade psu...

That's good to know.  I have two plugged into a Rosewill Lightning 1300 gold, and it seems to be barely working the powersupply.  I was pretty sure it could handle a 3rd OC'd Ant, but I've seen other people say 1500 is pushing your luck for 3.

I run 3 on 1200 watt power supplies.  I think you would be fine.

Yeah, but can't find them anywhere, and if I do its inflated Tongue . What would be the cheapest, but still stable way of running 3 of them at stock, or slight overclock, if it doesn't consume that much more extra power?

This is what I use for my GPUs (1 per rig), and intend to use for my Ants:

An OC'd ant is going to draw around 31-32 amps on the 12v rail. The important part is making sure your PSU can handle it. That Roswell does 108 amp on the main rail in the end which gives you overhead for 3 no problem.

The server PSU kit I linked is designed to be ran at 100% load and has very high effeciency. For the ant it is the more practical and cheaper solution with a better PSU in the end.

These ants have enough leds, that Roswell ... lol

That PSU kit looks neat.  It does require obtaining the server PSU as well, doesn't it?  Doesn't that factor into the cost?

Yes, there are lots of lights on the Rosewill.  All mine in my basement, cooler there, and allows me to hear the family upstairs when they are talking to me on the other side of the house. Smiley

It doesn't even say Bronze.  Because it's from Tigerdirect, and is only 430W, I wouldn't consider plugging it into a valuable Ant.  Not sure I'd consider plugging it into anything honestly.

Thats cause its not Bronze

I'm aware of that.  That's why I said it's "not even Bronze".  Cheapest of cheap. Smiley

2% away from Bronze for 25% cheaper. I guess Bronze is good if you're buying one or two. But I have to stock up hehe.

I see that now.  Good to know.  If I wasn't fresh out of circuits to use for more power, I'd seriously consider this.

Thanks.

Remember, you usually get what you pay for!!  And that 20% loss of efficiency stacks across PSUs.  ie, 3x430W = 1290W at 80% efficiency = wasting 258W of power continuously.

I used to stack cheap bronze PSUs.  Not anymore..

so bad i have lost all faith i bitcoin and am thinking of deleting my wallet with the btc in it and maybe a hammer to the miners all 700 ghs that is how bad it was

Please do this.  And, remember kids, pics or it didn't happen.  Wink

i want to see the bitcoin community's reaction to this before i decide so far i have been attacked by the  people that  have some thing to do with bitmaintech. the first 2 days
getting attacked for loosing faith is not restoring my faith. not sure if this is how i feel or if this is a over reaction to bad costumer from bitmaintech/sushi the warranty department. and if i do this you can bet you ass i will make a video if i do this. that would have to go viral.
by the way i have not had any thing to do with the bitcoin community this warranty issue is my first look at the community from the inside that was not being aired as a news post so far i do not like the community i have seen. Hope this changes.
I am not a social media user this is a painful thing for me to do but trying to warn others is worth the pain.
bitmaitech is a scam do not use

I'm sorry for your one bad experience but the truth is microprocessors are complicated devices and tons of stuff can go wrong, maybe there's a short, maybe over volted, some logic gates go haywire etc.  I personally have no experience with RMA yet because all my ants are working great and once they stop mining, will just sell for scrape parts.

One bad experience shouldn't lead you to making sweeping generalizations. It's true the world of bitcoin mining is littered with manufacturers who never ship or aren't even real or keep you in pre-order limbo to ebay sellers who are just scam masters... in this entire wild wild west, bitmain for me at least has been the most reliable place to shop at. Probably not perfect but they are still the only ones who actually ship products out now and today. True, a KnC is probably nice and uses relatively low power but what good is it if I'll only get my 3TH in June at a much much higher difficulty

thank you for the warm and fuzzy
had i gotten something like this over the last 15 day it would not have been as bad a thing

I have decided to give away the 0.355 btc bitmaintech coupons (5 total 2.  0.100 btc and 3.  0.055 btc)
i will never do business with bitmaintech or sushi again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would like to know. how should i offer them to get the most out of the giveaway?
better costumer service is the goal of the give away
have not decided on the hammer to the 3 antminers and the 3 bfl miners, or deleting the wallet......
the giveaway should help with the decision of the hammer and deleting.
going to sleep now should have a good idea on how to do this after a good nights sleep or from one of you.

"As soon as your payment is received in full you will receive email confirmation with order delivery details."

I'm not questioning Bitmain; I really do like them over all the others, but did anyone who ordered yesterday receive any email confirmations of their orders?

yes.  ordered/paid on the 10th.  confirmation email on the 12th, when it was shipped.   due to arrive in Southern California, tomorrow, Friday, March 14.

Just checked UPS tracking, and its in Ontario,CA.  right on schedule for tomorrow's delivery. Grin

HI all,

I need a little help. This is the second antminer I am setting up. The first one went really smooth.
The second one I got today.

Here is the problem I am trying to solve.
1) antminer powers up ? does not start hashing
2) BTC guild sees it. but it is not hashing. ( I usually use Eligius)
3) when I boot it up the green light is flashing and the other one stays red.
4) I can log on to the miner in the web interface obviiousy...I have it set to DHCP just like the first miner.

any help would be appreciated.
Unacceptable
