Chieftec Navitas 1250C

3x Cougar CF-V12HP fans powered str from Antminer second board fan connector.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but that setup does not seem very safe. I have (4) Antminer S1's all overclocked to 393.75 mhz and each Ant uses about 406watts at the wall. The 400mhz setting uses even more power, so even with my conservative power numbers, you're pulling at least 1218 watts out of a 1250w max load PSU. This is a recipe for a disaster.  Sad

PSUs are rated by their DC output, not by their AC input. If you're running at 90% efficiency that means with 406W at the wall you're putting out 365W. As a reference, I just tossed a meter on one of mine running at 400MHz and it's pulling 31.5A at 11.92V. That will be running that supply close to it's max at 400MHz, but with 104A on its 12V rail it will probably be fine.

you need to put some consumer on 5V cable, i have same PSU, and i put a old cdrom on 5V and never shut's down.

Are you sure?  If this is really true, that is just stupid.  Not every machine needs the 5v.  If I build a GPU mining rig running off a usb flash drive, it won't need the 5v.  6 pin to the GPU, 8 pin to the cpu, and 20/24 pin to the MB all 12v.

Wrong again....24pin for mobo connector has +5 volt too...several infact...up to 5 connectors  Roll Eyes

http://www.smps.us/20-to-24pin-atx.html

i have a PSU crosair vs650 , and i connect on the 4 pin 5V rail:
2 5W glow-lamps , and after that the PSU is not shuting down anymore.

Could I use 2 overclocked on a CX750 power supply?   I've already got one miner on it and am looking to pick up another S1.  Just wondering if I should buy another PSU or can they both be used on one.  If not, any recommendations for a good PSU?

I'd suggest a different one especially if you are going to OC them.

Definitely do not do that. Even non-overclocked two S1's use around 730 W. I measured it with a Kill-A-Watt and posted a picture. That's probably okay for a 750 if it is a gold or platinum with good efficiency at around 80-85% load.

Two overclocked is too much for a 750 PSU. Use two separate PSUs or find at least a 900-1000 PSU.

Buy right before a price drop and they'll give you a coupon for the price drop you can use on your next order.

Even though I am currently on BTCGuild I am also considering moving my miners to eligius as BTCGuild has increased their hashrate and my total shares has dropped.

So yeah, at the time eligius is your best bet.

Eligius is having payout issues, twice in a week I've had to wait up to 3 days for a payout  Angry  You don't lose any shares or BTC,it keeps adding up but it goes into failover or whatever & the payouts are delayed  Roll Eyes

I'm back at BTCGuild until Eligius fixes their pool......................................
