Is it possible to underclock the Antminer so it uses less juice?

Yes, definitely.  If you ssh into your S1, edit the /etc/config/asic-freq file, there are options for underclocking:

<snip>

Uncomment the line you'd like to run at and reboot your S1.  That's all there is to it.

You can also just reload the daemon e.g.
Code:
/etc/init.d/cgminer reload

I've noticed that it's sometimes necessary to run it twice to launch cgminer. Just a timing thing?

Those of you who live in US and order S1 regularly, could you please give me an estimation on expenses (import taxes, handling or whatever)and if you have any problems because of the fact you order them regularly?

Thank you in advance

There are no import taxes to the US.
Handling charges usually only come into play if the carrier has to deal with paying import taxes.
Shipping is included in the price.

Why don't you just order one and see.

Not in my case. The declared value was 500 USD each.
Still waiting for bitmain to reply to my pm so that we may make some kind of arrangements because I got stuck into paperwork and of course *HUGE* additional expenses!!!

When S2 comes, we will be issuing coupons again  Smiley Smiley
Hey Bitmain, really looking forward to the 'vast' amount of coupons you are going to give me  Roll Eyes, as a batch one, pre-order S2 customer.

Also - I am still waiting for you to send me the replacement controler board I need for the S1 that failed on the 13th of Feb!
have been waiting patiently for over a month for now.  Undecided

Think Bitmain needs to update on what they mark for each place they sent too!! 500USD plus current value makes them so expensive!

I can't imagine the price of the S2 at customs!!
