It's obviously limited by the total coin supply. But I believe during the next big pump (if there'll be one) there'll be a large dip in this graph. Because hosting a masternode can be profitable only if you buy at the bottom and then sell higher. Otherwise it's just an expensive geek project.
Good point. I agree that that there's likely to be a dumping of masternodes on a revaluation upwards. But that was exactly how Evan's monetary model was supposed to work. The two markets would be complimentary rather than adversarial. An upwards valuation would release new liquidity and a downwards valuation would boost the network infrastructure. I'm just amazed at how well it conforms to the model - even though I understood it at the time.

Would anyone be interested in a budget proposal that is actually a non-binding resolution that Mike Hearn is a great guy and sends like 1 dash to a burn address or some donation address? It is another a cool thing we could use the budget system for.

No, but I probably would vote for a proposal Mike Hearn submits to add a new Dash feature for X amount of Dash. If you want to burn a Dash for him. There is a Dash address below. I will take care of the burning for you. Honest.

Not true. Masternodes earn a fixed amount of coins every month. Depending on your hosting cost a masternode should be able to make a positive return even if dash loses 8% each year. There will be more masternodes at higher dash prices because the hosting fees are less of the value of the dash earned each month and longer waits between payouts are acceptable. If the Dash price goes down, the masternode count will fall until the payout time is short enough to be profitable again. To compliment this this there will also be market sellers at the highs and buyers at the lows. A masternode owner could actually choose either strategy.

You're either saying the same that I meant or contradict with yourself. It all depends on at what prices to buy an to sell. Because there'll always be a PnD roller coaster for DASH, so as for any crypto with a live market. Masternode payments can be a good little addition to investing profit but a poor compensation if your investment gets dumped.

You had me at, " About a year and a half ago..." So, they lost $10mil in BTC/LTC, a year and a half ago, and are just now telling us about it? Further down he has a blog post stating, "We have never been investigated for anything, period"... re: http://coinfire.io/2015/10/04/federal-investigations-of-cryptsy-underway/

Seriously now, what the **** did cryptsy do with all those BTCs stored there? They used it to pay their admins (Horus, JShock, Mullick, BigVern, et al)... now the well is dry... You may notice 1 week ago... someone (i'm guessing an admin) dumped 150,000 craptsy points for btc... who has 150,000 craptsy points besides admin? If you look at this page: https://www.cryptsy.com/coinsponsorsYou will see that both craptsy points, and "USDe" have been sponsored with 1BTC, yet no deposits show in their official sponsored addresses (logical conclusion is that craptsy sponsored themselves without paying, attempting to dump at a higher price): https://blockchain.info/address/1MAjC9HrGGBhvkHUYqZBeTmnEw3TQfSa1khttps://blockchain.info/address/19u1vhPFSCGNZe6UDTSUaNFUijQu2Ro7snCraptsy is running out of money... why do you think they added the "sponsored coin" program... and pay-to-ban in chat... and new withdraw fees? Really scraping the barrel to squeeze its customers dry... Warning: GOXtsy incoming!Who was it that warned you guys 2 months ago, in this very thread, that Craptsy was about to go full Gox?

hey guys just wondering about this whole cryptsy gox situation. Is cryptsy suspected of stealing DASH or was most DASH returned to its users? has anyone located the cryptsy master DAsH wallet is there a large amount they are holding that can get dumped on our heads?
Given the situation, signs point to at least some Dash being stolen... Withdrawal issues are being caused by lack of funds in Craptsy wallets... which means, someone stole them... Any idea how much Dash is 'stuck' at Craptsy? (this is how much was stolen) I see a block, 4 hours(?) after the 13,000 BTC was stolen from Craptsy, which shows 456,501 Dash being moved (stolen?): https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/block.dws?110242.htmAny chance Craptsy would confirm/deny that ~450k Dash was stolen?

So Cryptsy has been functionally bankrupt for 18 months, while fraudulently operating on a fractional reserve. That means when they are dragged into bankruptcy court, anyone who has received preferential treatment in the form of withdrawals will be subjected to clawbacks. I can only think of one Big Player that's told everyone in the universe exactly how many 100s of BTC and 1000s of LTC/DASH he's received from Cryptsy, while their less Very Important and lawyered-up customers sit around holding empty bags. His name is Otoh. And he better start getting ready to return the assets he was unfairly given by Cryptsy. Or it might start to look like tunneling.

Get out a town with these whacky conspiracy theories. It's all in your head. Those 456 Masternodes worth of DASH moving FOUR HOURS after the BTC/LTC theft is a whacky conspiracy theory? O rly? The DASH pumpers defending Cryptsy when everyone else knew they were crooked was all in my head? O rly? Here are some classic posts from our favorite Darkcoin/DASH [ANN] thread: I have got to defend Cryptsy, from the beginning they have been a stable exchange to rely on while many others have fallen down hard(mintpal anyone?)
Cryptsy has been really good for me, Big Vern is known and US based, and no one has ever lost money there over a very long time.
I remember this same thing with people recommending to leave Cryptsy and go to Mintpal in this same thread. How did that turn out?
There is also the distinct possibility that Cryptsy has done absolutely nothing wrong at all and these are all completely false allegations.
If anyone has more examples of DRK/Dash single-purpose accounts acting as white knights for Cryptsy, please LMK so I can add them to the dossier.
