Dash Core Group Details Business Development Regional Plans

The Dash Core Group’s Business Development Team expanded on their last quarterly call’s business development update with a separate, more detailed business development call.

The call was moderated by Bradley Zastrow, the Global Head of Business Development for Dash. At the 1:00 minute mark, they highlighted how Dash is “solving a specific problem with payments, because Dash wants to improve financial freedom; everyone deserves secure, cheap, and fast payments”. Bradley then highlighted how to grow Dash is to focus on key users and priorities because it is implausible to focus on everyone around the world all at once. This has caused Dash to focus on a few, but important industries; legal cannabis in the United States, high chargebacks for the gambling industry, hyperinflation in countries like Venezuela, remittances in the US-Mexico corridor, and cryptocurrency trading.

Dash’s Critics Discovered Something Huge Recently

I would like to take this week’s piece to address some of Dash’s critics. There have been several hit pieces in major cryptocurrency publications such as Bitcoin Magazine and Bitcoin.com recently (I won’t provide links, you can find them yourself). To them, I’d like to say something that might be surprising: “You’re on to something.” Yes, Dash’s haters have uncovered something pretty huge that has been a secret largely unknown outside of the Dash community.

I noticed the article on Bitcoin Magazine myself yesterday, which was basicly about a review on Dash and its privacy feature (first one of a serie of reviews on top cryptocurrencies) that was inaccurate and even false on several points and where comments were conveniently disabled.
We will most likely see more of those articles, as Dash starts to flex its muscles and fear starts to strike at the heart of Dash direct competitors. The fear that Dash could actually accomplish one day, what it said out to do from the start : to become a decentralized, low cost, mass-adopted
transaction provider with the means to drive adoption all on its own.

Dash may have started out as a privacy-centric cryptocurrency, but Dash has evolved from that and people who have written off Dash are just now starting to realise that, in a typical too little too late fashion.
 

The writer in bitcoin magazine accuse government of compromising virtual private servers and working with spies. He is crazy.

A new service for IOTA introduces “proof-of-work as a service” reminiscent of proof-of-work mining in other major cryptocurrencies, illustrating the importance of carefully-balanced economic incentives to result in intended outcomes.

IOTA is a cryptocurrency running on a directed acyclic graph (DAG) instead of a more traditional blockchain setup. A key component of this is the eschewing of traditional proof-of-work mining and transaction fees popular in blockchain currencies such as Bitcoin and Dash, with users performing a portion of the the proof-of-work themselves in order to confirm transactions instead. Following the meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) in Vienna, Austria on September 7,
European Commission Vice-President Vladis Dombrovskis has stated that the Council’s position on cryptocurrencies is that
they are here to stay despite market turbulence.

In his opening remarks, Dombrovskis said that the Council has developed a broadly positive view of cryptocurrencies and ICOs,
seeing their growth in the face of market turbulence as proof of their viability.

According to Dombrovskis, a major challenge regulators face with crypto assets is knowing how to properly categorise them, and determining whether
to apply existing EU financial rules to them or to develop new rules.

Against this backdrop he said, the Council is working in conjunction with European Supervisory Authorities on a crypto asset regulatory mapping project to provide
answers to these questions.

Good news for Europe. EU will just focus on developing a regulatory framework, nothing more (there were some fears that the EU would go hard on cryptocurrencies that
have some form of privacy tech in them, but that seems not to be the case).

The vast majority of cryptocurrency investors plan on buying more this year, as Dash masternode counts continue to rise.

According to a survey conducted by SharesPoint in July, a polled group of over 3,000 investors responded on their willingness to invest more in cryptocurrency this year. 72% of respondents indicated that they planned to increase their cryptocurrency holdings this year, despite the sharp decline in price, which in some cases has amounted to over 90%. Respondents also indicated that they believed cryptocurrency would reach wide adoption by 2025.

Dash Leverages Innovative Capabilities to Revolutionize Quorum Technology

Dash has announced the introduction of Long Living Masternode Quorums (LLMQs), which is currently under development and will influence both Evolution and non-Evolution features of Dash.

Alexander Block, a Dash Core Group developer, started off by recalling his last blog post about quorums and how despite their revolutionary offerings, they do not scale very well. Whereas LLMQs “only increase the required resources (CPU, RAM, network) on the members of such quorums, instead of increasing the load on the whole network”. Also different from regular quorums, LLMQs are built beforehand and reused for a fixed period of time rather than created on demand.
