I would have a problem trusting any coin that claims it is listed on an exchange it is not, like the way this one is claiming to be on BTC38, I have an account and actively trade on there, so there so this was something I checked right away, as I am looking for other coins to mine than doge and mec, that I can trade on there directly.

**edit, just to note, I am wanting to know why it was said to be listed, mistake or not, I am not tossing an accusation here that anyone outright lied, just that the information is incorrect as far as I can see (the link takes you to the bitcoin listings for trade and not dark) or if there is some anticipatory reason for listing it, as they maybe have an inside track on it getting listed there??

They actually had an article up and everything and just haven't enabled trading for some reason, it's weird.

I bet that will change in the next couple days.  DRK is #3 in crypto now - they can't ignore it forever.

It's not listed on BTC38 because they don't want DRK's crazy kickassness messing with their other coins.
Same with BTC-E. That is why BTC-E never lists any new coins. It might be a wise strategy for now but who knows in the future.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I would say that they need to change the OP then, and put a list of prospective (meaning the site has mentioned the coin) sites that might trade it, I dont see any reason that they would avoid it for trade due to the anon nature of it, though the super node thing might be something that is holding them back from doing it till they can work out how they can implement it.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

google still has traces of what they were doing or writing about darkcoin

Maybe it's obvious but I think we will see over 0.03 within 24-48 hours based on charts and order book.

I just picked up another nice stack.

I'm not so sure. I'm cautiously bullish about it. I think a lot of people were erroneously expecting this to be Open Source Day. It is, in fact, something more momentous, but of a more complex nature that the traders haven't investigated. You don't move on a trigger you don't know is there...

It's also Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend... Evan was busting his hump. Most people are not.

Master Node Election
The election algorithm is a pseudo random deterministic algorithm based on the transaction IDs
in the DarkSend pool. By adding up the hash values of the transaction IDs, and running the value
through the X11 hashing algorithm, a pseudo random number is created.

Pseudo code:
Target = X11 (txid1+txid2+txid3+txid4) // txid = Transaction ID

NodeValue = X11(txid1+outputPubkey1+outputPubkey2)
NodeValue2 = X11(txid2+outputPubkey3+outputPubkey4)
NodeValue3 = 0 //last node to enter pool can’t be master

Score = Abs(TargetNodeValue)
Score2 = Abs(TargetNodeValue2)

This random number is compared to a target number derived from the txid and pubkeys of the
users outputs. The node with the lowest score is elected master while the second lowest score
is  elected  slave.  By  using  this  algorithm  we  achieve a decentralized tamperproof  system in
which the users can know which node the master is.

On Mintpal someone just dumped 9000 coins

And then another 4800 on my/some whales combined buy wall of over 100 BTC.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

looks like whales are taking higher risks on each round
26-25-24 is almost a suicide with +15k DRKs, many things could go wrong for them.

They need to be really sure about weak holders, and clearing them out for the future.

Looks like each weekend they take time off and let the market do what it wants, come back on mondays and pump up the price up to highs. 0.03 is so close. Usually explodes after crossing a new threshold too.

I hope my problems receiving a few DRK deposits at Cryptsy can be resolved. I had fully read the thread up until about a week ago, before the explosion of people posting about what the price was doing, where they thought it would go and how insignificant Litecoin is. I stopped reading and the masternodes payment fork slipped my mind. I think either Cryptsy or BTER (or both) are on the wrong fork and I'm still waiting on 3 deposits. It should have been a great day for trading, now I'm sceptical about sending DRK between any of the exchanges.

Moaning aside, congratulations to those who received their first masternode payments today!
