The address must be the 0 address or it won't work as far as I know.

The "0 address requirement" was removed many versions ago.

diamonds as an asset backed reserve for DRK

Could you (or anyone who understands it) explain what that means for someone who's not familiar with those financial terms.  Huh  Smiley

I think this article is a good introduction:

Means there would be some exchange rate for x DRK for x carats in diamonds (although then you are going into the four C's). Asset backing helps hold value. Terms obviously are unknown but I doubt we'll see any sort of backing personally.

Hmm... I would think that diamonds, being unique / non-uniform / subjective in their valuation, are not a very suitable for backing assets of financial instruments. Precious metals on the other hand are much better suited for this job. They are divisible and fungible.

I wasn't suggesting diamonds, just mentioning what coins101 was referring to.

But at wholesale prices they might be.

The fact that they keep a steady value is pretty good.

Chaps & Chapesses.....

$ <> stellar <> drk <> stellar <> zyz fiat currency?

views?

https://stripe.com/blog/bitcoin-the-stripe-perspective

There was just one thing that was bothering me about Ripple and Stellar - their USP seemed to be mainly around instant verification because they use proof of shit.

Instant verification can be handled by Instant TX.

But then there is the volume of coin printing that probably keeps prices stable and therefore relatively attractive for creating connectors to banking systems for executing fx trades.

Sorry if this is a repost.....

Darkcoin mentioned in a very positive way:

http://www.deepdotweb.co/2014/12/22/ethics-deep-web/

Whilst it is certainly true that coin-mixing would presumably help cover some tracks it is also clear, at least from Silk Road, that this is harder in practise than theory. Therefore it is perhaps time that at least some of the administrators entertained the possibility of accepting alternative cryptocurrencies with anonymity features. Going by marketcap Darkcoin fits the bill as the most obvious choice. In contradistinction to Bitcoin we find Darkcoin now has an in-built Darksend feature, with a giant button such that even the laziest user will surely apply it. Enterprising vendors might even save up and buy a masternode which would allow them to make even more Darkcoins for contributing to this anonymizing network.

you are most likely still using an old wallet.dat file you need to back up your wallet then start your client with the -upgradewallet command

Looks like someone is trying to exit since 19 Dec. Approx 40k darkcoins in those 4 dumps.

try removing peers.dat first

EDIT: btw, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are using the latest version you should be fine anyway.

BUMP!!! Wink

Quote
v0.10.18.x:

The last release was a giant success and Darksend is mixing (for most users), the transactions are very secure and anonymous. But there's still some issues with the implementation. We're going to utilize all of our new talent (Patrick and UdjinM6) to help restructure and flush out the design of Darksend over the few weeks.

Changes will include:

Closing all of the security vulnerabilities we can find.
Getting Darksend mixing working better (it gets stuck frequently, it's not user friendly)
Improving Darksend mixing feedback to the user
Redoing some of the Darksend/Masternode code to make it easier to understand
Moving to 0.9.3 Bitcoin code base, based on Darkcoil (thanks to Vertoe)

After this update, we want Darksend to mix faster (We're targeting 4-8 hours @8 rounds) and easier for your average everyday user. We'll also look through the code again for vulnerabilities and close them all. We're gaining much more attention (good and bad), so we want the code to be as secure and easy as possible before diving into introducing InstantX.

During this period the InstantX code will be open-source and merged into the project. We encourage developers to look at the implementation and give feedback to improve it before we launch.

We need a new release name for this upcoming release. Suggestions are welcome!
