Holy shit on the Euro.

I am traveling (on an extended stay in Europe) and I started to feel like I was feeling in Argentina / Brazil as they respective currencies were plummeting...

I was in Argentina during the crash.  Scary stuff.  Overnight, the banks closed the doors because the government seized all cash.

The rich were fine because their money was abroad.
The poor were fine because they had nothing anyway
The middle classes lost everything.  "Sorry Sir, you can't have your savings because there is no money".  Within a matter of days, previously comfortable families were struggling to feed themselves.

Its not funny, but that made me laugh anyway.

I'm thinking of a gamble on a Euro<>GBP leveraged fx trade when the Euro hits 1.65 or 1.7 if it looks like it will go that way. There is even an outside chance it will go to 1:2.

Why?

ECB QE will keep pushing the Euro down.  Money will leave the Euro and head for USD and then later GBP as interest rates begin to rise.  The Greeks will create a storm of uncertainty, pushing the Euro down some more.

QE will eventually push up inflation in Euro land. The dramatic differences in Euro USD will lead to higher Euro exports and more people going on holiday in Euro areas creating inward investment (the sun still shines, the wine still flows).

The Euro will eventually turn and the Euroland interest rates will start to become a realistic prospect.  That's where the leveraged play should pay-off. Well, in theory. Might lose £20k, or gain £200k. Worth the risk?

The dev team has shown multiple times that they can handle problems, forks, and what not, and have earned the trust by working hard and constantly producing value. If you on the other hand never had the trust in the first place, it can't erode, can it?

Darkcoin is constantly improving, and development is and will be going on a long time still. If everything was ready and finished, we wouldn't be at $3/coin. We're still early adopters and all. Smiley

I wouldnt touch it if someone cracked something. Privacy is no kids play. It can prove dangerous. Would Snowden for his life use a system which got broken and patched?

try withdrawing more than 100 DRK from cryptsy right now... after confirming, cryptsy changes the amount of the withdrawal.  Huh

WATCH OUT everyone!! This is confirmed, Cryptsy withdrawing highly irregular, withdrew 98 drk, received email for 98, then got only 49, and transfers out showed 98 pending but then it changed down to 49 after being sent.the total balances check out so far, but its enough to make me very nervous-never seen it before. Second one came as stated.

Sub-Ether.  This is my first post on bitcointalk.org.  I just signed up after seeing your post and attempting to withdraw from Cryptsy.  I wanted everyone to know that I tried to withdraw a significant amount, but have not received my Dark.  I have been waiting for more than 1 hour.  I wanted people to know this.

Just to provide a bit more info, I withdrew ~6 BTC about 1 hour ago and had my funds right away.  Can't speak for DRK but BTC withdrawls seem to be ok.  I did withdraw just to be safe though.  Hopefully DRK price doesn't drop as I was planning to buy more with those BTC!

Interesting approach, although the input order isn't random, it's randomly generated from multiple transactions on the client side. Even if it was completely not random, that doesn't allow you to "jump" the mixing transaction and know which outputs belong to which inputs.

Source TX:

http://explorer.darkcoin.io/tx/9ad01adae3814abf9a9731f0003d95a0f9bf701d055152f7b54ee4b6be47bfca:

Notice the inputs reference 5 transactions, but there's 3 participants. You can't tell where one stops and the next begins. Also, it's possible that multiple clients in this transaction were actually in 5bafee7a5397ad505658b1e37af812e64ebb2834601224e4f6f6675b4a25728b or b4534361c8247abcc6b428fd85a17546f23413b2777f3e3f372578d100b20c4e for example.

One more thing to note is that after coins are mixed through multiple sessions, there are "final" outputs that are just spent randomly. That can happen in any session, which causes more randomness.

Nice try though

PS. If you believe it's really a weakness you need to map the outputs to the inputs and show who's anonymously spending money on what. I'm not sure it's worth the time though, because masternode blinding randomizes the input order anyway.

What funny is when DRK stays low for months, none of this came out.
After the rise, there are always attempts to FUD. Whether is it true or not, these actions are always miserable.

He found a critical bitcoin bug some days back, maybe this is more than FUD
If your truly not here to spread FUD... PM Evan or one of the other devs,   and they get on to investigate...and IF there is something to be concerned about it will be addressed. This is in beta with over a year in the making.  And We're not rookies here.

Anything other than this with continuing on here and other threads about it...  and you then officially a fudder and will be called out as such.  Let's see how your further actions play out.

Reddit comments show they are using their own private pools to mine DRK and XMR. Probably one of our many offending "unknown" pools.

Sooooo THE GAURDIAN recommended the use of Darkcoin to stay anonymous for payments....getting on their radar let alone in an article for them is big fucking news... Shouldn't our official social media outlets be screaming this from the rooftops?

Nothing is out of the box and 100% perfect and tested, especially something this cutting edge, involved and complicated, Darkcoin has been constantly improving since it's creation. Consider that something you may not use today, may become standard in 1 or 2 years time. The Europeon bank has written a report saying that X11 may replace sha256 and scrypt, but only time will tell what will become defacto safe anon as time progresses. There is no other network like the Masternode system and the Dev's are repeatedly finding new uses for Darkcoin's core backbone..

I'm also a bit "twitchy", but it comes from lack of experience.  I received my 700 Dark from cryptsy after a 2 hour waite.  Sorry!

Glad you're sorted, I have had them 24 hours late before, it was the 'accounting errors' that worried me more.
And please dont keep all your coins on an exchange in case it all goes tits up like many others, use for your masternode instead!

I currently have most of my Dark stored in Darkcoin Core - Wallet.  I wish I was confident enough to set up a masternode because
I have the required amount to do so.  Wondering what the best way might be.  I also have a few on paperwallets, but need to figure how to get them
out of cold storage.
