"Peter Wuille, one of the Bitcoin Core Developers, also proposed the idea to combine Confidential Transaction feature with CoinJoin, an anonymization method that combines two payment transactions and making it a one Bitcoin transaction. The method obfuscates the direction, as there is no way to relate the input and output of a transaction. Dash’s DarkPay also uses a similar method".

Bitcoin with sidechains makes me think of this:

Our horse,

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

...
With the expression of this view, Maxwell appears to be at once a cryptographical genius and a philosophical illiterate.

..

It doesn't appear to occur to him that it is the very same public he's trying to convince that has created the altcoin environment. There is no confusion. The "message" has been received loud and clear.

It's just that the message of "bitcoin the technology" is not necessarily the same as the message of "bitcoin, the core developer".

Not 100% clear what you mean.

Not 100% clear what you mean.

Bitcoin is a reproducible technology, no matter how desperate the efforts of certain core devs + Coinbase CEO to convince people to "play their game".

If it's ever to become a dominant monetary medium (which I think it has a good chance of doing), it will only do so through finding it's natural place amongst all other conceivable implementations.

If anyone is interested in the investment opportunities of crypto and their legal aspects for trusts, then there's a three day roadshow organized by a Channel Islands law firm in early July, details in the meet ups thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1098311

London July 1st, Guernsey July 2nd & Jersey July 3rd.

I'll be attending the Guernsey one on July 2nd with some friends who work in the trustee biz and will be bringing DASH to their attention.

That deposit bonus has to be wagered 50 times before withdraw.  Little detail that gets left out.
