As far as updating the wallet . . if you're using windows you'll need to delete everything in your c:/users/you/appdata/roaming/darkcoin folder except your wallet.dat file. After that then you can run the new exe. Your old coins will usually show up as unconfirmed until your wallet updates.

You  don't have to download the entire blockchain! You don't need to delete anything in %APPDATA%.
Just download the new exe, that's it. Tested on Windows 7 x64.

I don't have the technical background to understand a Sybil Attack. Could someone explain this to me and if it negatively impacts DarkCoin's future at all? Might end up being nothing but I would like to know.

Basically a Sybil Attack is an attack on peer-to-Peer network in which the attacker uses multiple nodes to establish that they are "trustworthy" and then proceeds to use that node "trust" to influence the network in some way. The type of influence depends on what type of network it is that is being attacked - it might be just disruption, injection of bad data , or capturing other user and/or node information.

The name Sybil refers to the girl with multiple personalities.

I'm not sure how this would affect the Darkcoin network, except that a 51% attack is somewhat the same principle.

In the standard sybil attack a user can make many fake identifies and actually de-anonymize a transaction. There's a few tools DarkSend uses to protect against this type of attack, from the whitepaper:

the participants of the pool. Using this strategy neither the master nor other nodes know which

2.16 DRK/day is pretty close to my calculation of 2.1175.

An explanation?  DarkSend is the technology behind the Darkcoin wallet that mixes up payments so that you can't tell who sent what to whom.  It uses the idea put forth in coinjoin, but adds other layers to hide where the coin came from or went to via single use throw away addresses and converting funds into blocks of denominations that are all the same (100, 10, 1, 0.1, 0.01...) So the sender deposits the same amount as all the other senders in the pool, the funds are organized into payments by the Master Node (a random user's wallet) and when it is all ready to be sent out, The payment, the fees, the return change, everyone has to sign they agree, including a "Slave Node" who would take over if something happened to the Master Node.

So as it stands now, and I'm sure Evan has implemented a lot of refinement, there are 3 levels of obfuscation:

Coinjoin type of system
hiding in numbers (all input amounts the same)
single use addresses

4.) First stable release - I think this stage should also be closed source until we're sure everything is perfect
5.) Public audits, where the closed source is shared with someone who people trust to review DarkSend (I'm not sure who that would be yet)
6.) After all audits pass and we have a real product, opensource

Currently we're in Beta V3, I'm working on V4 right now. I'm fighting some bugs then I'll do another release

Another benefit would be the multipool driving up prices :-)

Somebody else also asked why mine Dark, and I didn't get around to saying why I mine dark.  Because I'm lazy.  LOL, I don't want to have to watch out to see where I can make the most bang for my buck, then hope I can still buy more dark than I could have by just mining it (the price is ridiculously low still, IMO, so it could suddenly go up, and I'd lose out)  Also, I know that mining dark is needed to keep the network going, but with my tiny hashrate, that really makes no difference, LOL

For me the answer is simple, multipools are used (now) to mine scrypt coins : higher electricity consumption (higher cost) and higher temperatures while mining (discomfort). Therefore, I prefer to mine DRK directly.
