I dont see a reason why the whales should stay with darkcoin.

At first the abilitys of the coin aren't important.
Most people are just looking for a good return and just wanna go in for a short time.

So the whales could pick any other coin and pumpt it... enough people will follow.

The way im seeing it is that people are trying to make a quick buck.
Thats not the way it goes unfortunately.

Darkcoin is a good coin, but its really only the privacy part that makes it special, and X11 gives GPU miners incentive to keep mining instead of scrypt. Wont be long before all the news coins are X11.

People will wake up to the fact that POS is the only way to go.
NXT will surpass litecoin eventually and DRK will easily topple litecoin.

pos is far less secure than pow at current dev stage

What annoys me is reading here all the posts about it getting to $300 or even $1000 like some are saying, I think it has the potential to reach $100 possibly, but i have a realistic approach.
Im not trying to spread FUD, but i feel its wrong to give newbies false hopes and have people dig deep into their pockets into such a risky investment, which goes for all cryptos, and DRK is still dropping, which i was expecting, so what if it goes back to $2? It still has the potential to get up to $100 if it is indeed a solid coin.

I intend to invest in more DRK, as well as NXT, MEC and other coins, its wise to not keep all your eggs in one basket and anyone with their head screwed on should agree.
But im not going to panic buy DRK like what is happening at the moment.

It seems alot of new coins are going over to POS, i just think it seems a waste of electricity and computing power for that matter to keep something like bitcoin running, have you seen that video on youtube of a bitcoin mining farm in the States?
Its unbelievable that so much processing power is required to keep it secure, surley there is a better way around this?

i think he means for the good of EVERYONE invested, not to get newbies invested with false hopes;it helps keep the value from tanking so quickly if things do slip. not everyone can take risk well.like dominoes,it can fall out of control if people get misled;youd be surprised how many people in cryptoland use those price guides as an investment resource -_-.then if you tell them anything other than the one they liked to hear, then they just say its all FUD.

I agree with above.  It's been a while since I synced from scratch, but I remember needing to wait a long time, like an hour for my wallet to find the start.  Not sure why that happens.  Do make sure you have your config file made, and a few addnodes.
