I am really trying to collect more info, but I am kind of lost between many threads and what seems to me a lack of information.

Q1- are minereu.com legit ? they sell these miners for EU, it is cool I don't want to deal with customs and fees.
Q2- is the controller needed ? if not, when I plug all miners to a PC can I use cgminer (Linux or windows doesn't matter to me)
Q3- are these miners stable ? I see many users reporting stability issues.
Q4- does the dual mining mode really work ? if yes, how stable is it ?
Q5- can I get some feedback about overall experience with these miners, heat, stability, power consumption..

based on the above questions, if users who already tried these miners and can report a positive feedback I would be interested in buying from 100-1000 depending on the price, and where do you think is the best place here in EU to get them (competitive price for a bulk order and fast delivery)

I will be thankful if some of you take time and please forgive ma ignorance, I stopped mining a long time ago and I feel kind of lost here...

this topic is not about minereu.com

I know, they stated they are their partners in EU, so some confirmation would be really appreciated.

I have pre-ordered :-)  Just hoping for an update.  Jack said design was almost completed last I talked to him, which would put delivery 30 days or so away.. but he needed a minimum number of orders.

The problem is, the only difference between this and getting 50 of the 300Kh/s miners is, it's in a rack mount case. Price, power and ROI are about the same, otherwise (maybe a little worse, if you can't overclock it). If they were able to reduce the price by $200-$300, we might be talking.

That would actually be pretty good if it was 50 of the 300kh/s miners since they overclock quite easily 20% to 360kh/s, which would yield a net system hash power of 18MH.  But i'm betting the OC is already factored into that reported speed.  I'm running 40 miners and getting 14.4MH so its conceivable they will just ship something with ~42 miners and call it 15MH.

I hope i'm wrong and welcome any input from Jack on this!

I don't think Jack would cram 42 overclocked miners and call it an LA15M.  Jack has been very honest and has undersold the capabilities of these units from day 1 (I am not saying he is perfect as there have been some slow responses and confusion in ordering from others; but he has been upfront, honest, consistent, honorable and has met all of his promises to me).  Consider that Jack is not selling the LA3M as an LA4M, even though at 850mhz clocks (which are easily achieved) the units do in fact operate closer to 400 than 300 khz, so he **could** have called it an LA4M, or he could have shipped 9 miners per LA3M if that was the kind of company he wanted to operate.  We will see, but I would be greatly disappointed if the "LA15M" was anything less than 250 gridseed chips (note that there is the possibility, maybe likelihood, that LA would create a board that hold more than 5 chips per board, in order to optimize power and cooling and minimize cost).

In addition, it should be better than just cramming 50 of the LA3M type miners in a case, as there would be many advantages to an integrated design.  First, you would not need 50 fans and 50 huge heatsinks.  Using a shared heatsink and case fans (with well designed airflow through a case designed with cooling in mind) should substantially reduce power and space requirements, and maybe even improve cooling to the point the additional overclocking is possible.  Second,  cable management and power distribution is not a trivial problem with 50 gridseeds going at once, and a single rackmount solves both of those problems.  Third, as a consequence of the foregoing advantages, consider that 5 LA3M consume about 3250 watts (dual mode), which is more than a single 15-20 amp circuit could handle, but by design the LA15M would presumably run on a single circuit (TBD - hoping this is true).  Fourth, setup, shipping, moving, and maintenance of a single rack mount device is WAY easier versus 50 individual miners.  Probably quieter as well.

Even ignoring the advantages above, the LA15M should provide some cost advantages over 5 separate LA3M systems.  At $2400 per LA3M, the total current cost for 5 LA3M (the equivalent of an LA15M, I believe though specs from Jack would help confirm this) would be $12,000 PLUS $600 for shipping... the $11,000 price Jack gave me included shipping so that is a $1,600 savings.

Finally, it is worth noting that Jack offered to me at least price protection vis a vis the LA3M cost, so that if he lowers the price of LA3M he would reduce the price of the LA15M to me.  Since it seems inevitable that the LA3M is going to decrease (other GB's are already offering complete setups equal to the LA3M for 2100)... so it will ultimately be less in all likelihood.  Caveat - I don't know if Jack would offer this to everyone who pre-orders maybe only to the earliest pre-orders so don't assume anything regarding terms if you are pre-ordering.

It's 40 not 50 regardless.

200 Gridseed chips not 250.

I ordered and received an LA3M (set of 10 gridseed units) from Jack a few weeks ago, and just ordered 30 more gridseed units from ZoomHash at a cost of $202.50 each ($6100 total including shipping). That puts me at 40 gridseeds, for a total estimated hashrate of ~14.8M, for $9000 after factoring in accessories. Now, getting it in a nice form factor is worth a little more, but $11000 is too much. Please reconsider the price, or provide more information about the number of chips/etc that might make it more worthwhile.

I just put 10 in a 2U short (15") case.

When the next lot arrive I'll be making some modifications and putting 10 into a 1U short chassis.

Then It'll be 20 in 1U long.  This means 5U would support 30Mh/s rated (5xLA6M).  Not sure where the space savings is coming from?  Perhaps less work.  But I think I'll sell a 6Mh/s 1U box Smiley

That can be both good and bad.  Good for the near term as the coins that do that will have their difficulty drop and preserve GPU mining longer.
Bad because the coins that don't may get a boost by suddenly having tons of Scrypt ASIC's mining and trading them.  Why is that bad?  It may devalue the other coins that forked.
No way to know until it happens.
I know they have been discussing it with litecoin.
The is scryptN but so far it is vertcoin and a couple clones.
It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

dude i'm with you on decentralized mining but i'd say there'd be some truth in it since scrypt's main purpose was to be ASIC resistant in the first place.. so if you could back it up with some credible sources or at least hints on this that would be great... besides there's already jane scrypt and n-adaptive scrypt that seem to be catching up...also i did notice though there's less money flowing into scrypt only coins... doge daily turnover is down by half on cryptsy, my common sense tells me whoever is pumping this coin just can't keep up anymore since we're now flooded by asic scrypts...

the real bad is that stupid waste of power
we have peak oil next year and electricy prices are already exploding

ASICs are now 10x more power efficient than GPUs but cost 50% more, so there never will be a arms-race situation like with Bitcoin

"This miner has internalized PSU and don’t need any other accessories(of course, a ethernet cable is needed for internet accessing)."

looking at the picture, there is clearly no PSU anywhere in the design, and in fact it appears to have an 8-pin (ATX or PCIE?) power connecter

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!
