Will a standard AC adapter work for powering gridseeds? I have around five 12v 10a laying around and it's silent unlike standard gridseed PSU. Will they work to power 8 units each? Won't fry them or something?

You must ensure they have regulated voltage output. This means that the voltage they output does not vary with the attached load. It should also output 12 volts when no load is attached.

You can't spit electrons into empty air no, but the terminal should still sit at a 12v potential, voltage is not power. Cheap PSU's output often oscillate dangerously when underloaded.

Exactly. That is what I was hinting at. Voltage will also be measurable without attached load.

the best choice is to use ATX PSU + atx PCI-E cables.

My Review after (1 week of mining with LightningASIC) with 10 units (1xLA3M).

LightningASIC will be my new one-stop to order more miners, as I plan to order more 4xLA3M and the new LA1THS soon.

7th of march I ordered and paid sha256+scrypt combo device (device plus shipment costs), till now I did not receive anything. Each time when I ask mr AsiaBTC about shipment details via Skype, I receive answer : tommorow. In the meantime (18th march) this man tried to rise price by next 0,2 btc explaining that this is cost of shipment. Of course I did not agree to pay some extra money. I write it to warn all of you, to do not waste your money for this man. All skype conversation with AsiaBTC I can send anybody as a proof.

Of coure when I get device I will write proper information on this forum

In this case, if he made mistake and did not check history of conversation asiabtc should agree to give me back my BTC, but he did not !!! For this is only one word: THIEF - he is not sending my device to me and parallely he is not going to return my BTC.

I am just saying he is very busy, so I can understand things like this go wrong. I do fully agree with you however that any business, so lightningasic included, should issue refunds when a customer requests on (maybe with the exception of custom built products etc). I really don't understand why some companies are being so difficult when it comes to refunds.

Plans are forming to hard fork some popular Scrypt coins to render Scrypt asics USELESS.  Do not buy Scrypt ASICS!!!!!  Don't even make them!

Bitcoin's network is just about impenetrable at this point. It would take the majority of the world's computing power to deliberately fork the network, and it would probably still fail after a few minutes. This is a GOOD THING if you are trying to secure the network.

Don't trust Sandor11's advice or you may burn up your miners. He said to use the controllers with a non-powered USB hub. Well, it fried two of my miners. Many thanks sandor11 and LightningASIC.

Sorry for the loss, but I have never had any problem with using unpowered USB hubs and Gridseed miners. I think your power supply may be the culprit, as there is virtually no current going in the USB port (it's primarily used for data transfer).
