p2pool seems to be on a different fork than the official blockchain explorer.
Do I need to update the networks.py file?
You do not need to update the p2pool code (networks.py). Just update your wallet daemon and hopefully all the other p2pool nodes will as well. Sent cryptovein a msg on irc.

Guys can someone help me,wallet is not synchronizing (((
Copy this into notepad: addnode=162.243.214.135 addnode=213.95.21.24 addnode=88.198.110.120 addnode=91.121.85.62 addnode=188.226.135.210 addnode=162.243.227.221 addnode=5.255.66.44 addnode=23.253.70.235 addnode=162.243.224.78 addnode=172.245.21.210 addnode=162.242.156.243 addnode=209.141.39.184 addnode=23.253.74.25 addnode=23.21.136.204
Save as %appdata%\potcoin\potcoin.conf but change "save as type" to All Files first. (Don't save as potcoin.conf.txt!) Then open your wallet again. (On windows, %appdata% is probably equivalent to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming, but just use %appdata% to be sure.) Expect the synch to take a while (possibly hours), but you should see progress. Also the wallet might become momentarily confused about how many blocks to expect. (That was a problem a couple of days ago but I haven't noticed it lately and it only lasted a short while each time.) Thanks a lot,it works.

Disappointed in the lack of notice regarding the fork to fix KGW. These things need to be done at least two weeks out if not longer.
Not knowing about the fork I sent over 1000 POT and it never got there...updated my wallet and issued a -resync only to see the two sent transactions sitting there with a ? next to them (they were confirmed on the wrong blockchain). Any idea how to get them back?
I understand the desire to patch as quickly as possible but you need to allow enough time for the pools and other operators supporting this coin to have sufficient notice.
I haven't updated in months - does this mean my coins won't make it to an exchange?

Your post is confusing. Lack of notice? Besides the giant red text and them blasting about how they are fixing the exploit on every avenue of social media they are involved with what type of notice would you like? A personal telegram ? All the other scrypt coins that use kgw were having a melt down too, so if you didn't read about it through potcoin then perhaps you could have read about it while doing research on another coin. Perhaps you just don't read anything about the community, although a sr memeber with over 300 posts leads me to believe you are just upset that you lost coins and are striking out. To answer your question, i don't think you can get them back. Live and learn and be more diligent in the future.

As long as you aren't mining coins on the wrong chain, it should not be an issue. From my understanding the issues arise when people continue to use the wrong chain to mine and generate coins. The coins you already have are safe. Just update your wallet. After doing redundant back ups of your dat file and then install the new wallet. Should be good to go after that. Shouldn't have to restore or anything, the back ups are just in case.

I think you need to create new transactions. The old ones won't ever confirm because they never happened as far as the new blockchain knows. They won't cause harm, but they are ugly. You might just choose to keep ignoring them. One solution is to create an entirely new wallet, export your private key from the old wallet and import it into the new one. (Or just transfer all of the coins to the new one if you don't mind loosing the history.) The new wallet won't ever know about the unconfirmed transactions. I've never done that, though. Also, there are some old Bitcoin tools at https://github.com/gavinandresen and there was a way of using those tools to delete unconfirmed transactions, but I suspect the odds of them working correctly on potcoin's wallet.dat file aren't high. At least one coin that tried something new had so much trouble that the ability to delete unconfirmed transactions was added to the wallet, but I can't remember what coin that was and doubt knowing would be helpful anyway. If you find out something better than my ideas, I'd be curious to know what it was. Please let us know.

Also don't create any new transactions using the old wallet. Upgrade first. OTOH, if you withdraw coins from an exchange or pool, your old wallet won't get them, but the new one will once you synch with it.

They have been posting about the needed upgrade for a week and its been in discussion for far longer on many coins, not just POT. This was a well known flaw to KGV. Would you rather somebody time warp attack the blockchain instead? This was an emergency security fix. It had to be done quickly. Sorry your coins are probably lost, but you can attempt to extract the private key from your wallet.dat file. Import it into a fresh install of the new wallet and see what is there, but my guess is they are lost.

It does not instill confidence in a coin. 1000 POT is nothing to me so I am not upset. Forks should only be done as a last resort and under extreme situations with plenty of notice. I think the KGW issue is a valid reason to fork but a two day notice in unacceptable and will lead to people loosing faith in a coin. You can not expect people to watch message board threads. If there was any actual use by consumers they would never trust this coin again under this situation. Edit: I have started "watching" the github (email notification) for any source code changes. I also think not incrementing the version number is a mistake.

If there was any actual use by consumers they would never trust this coin again under this situation. If this issue was unique only to Potcoin then i would not disagree with you. However, this was an issue with KGW, which a lot of coins have implemented. I would say confidence would be lost had they done nothing. What proof do you have that the devs did not act as fast as they could when it came to implementing a fix as your argument on timelines only holds ground if they had knowledge of the exploit months ago. You can't give warning about something unless you know about it. If the community as a whole only found out about the exploit a week or so ago, how much time do you think is reasonable for advanced notice? I don't eat, breath, and shit crypto but i do try to keep current about it. I only found out about the exploit after Potcoin started talking about a fix being worked on. That is the funny thing with most forks, unless it is to change or implement something, they really don't know it is going to fork. In this case they applied a patch to something and that caused a fork, they gave as much notice as they could. If their crystal balls were working then perhaps they could have given the two weeks notice you desire. What other coins out there do you have to put faith in? There are a ton of coins out there and there are a few with good communities. Potcoin is the only coin really poised to solve some issues at the current moment. The cash issues could always be altered if the feds change the laws but that is a waiting game and something sorta needs to be done in the mean time. The only other promising thing going on in the coin world atm, through my dismal outlook, is the scrypt asics. I hope they do to ltc what asics did for btc. Forks done on whim surely erode trust. I don't think this fork hurt the coins public opinion as there aren't many Kgw coins out there that aren't effected by the timewarp.

On the a PC you open a txt file paste the nodes and save the files as potcoin.cfg in the user/appdata/roaming/potcoin.

However, this was an issue with KGW, which a lot of coins have implemented...as there aren't many Kgw coins out there that aren't effected by the timewarp.
Is this what the timewarp vulnerability looks like?
