Anyone have an idea when we will have mined all 75B KARM? We are at 27B in less than a month. Just a general timeline of when we will hit 50B and then 60B would be appreciated.
I am not very good at this, but looking at the reward scheme it looks to me like this:
* we're about 1 week away from the next rewad halfing (510k -> 260k)
* at that point roughly 34B KARM will have been mined (about 5 weeks after launch)
* while still significant, mining will slow down considerably from hereon out
* the next 5 week phase will only see about 13B mined
* then it will take 10 weeks for another 11B
* then another 10 to add 3.5B
* then another 10 for 2B
* then bonus rewards will be gone
so basically >half of the mining will be done about 6 weeks from now and supply will slow down significantly. Another 3 months (think August) and the supply of new coins will basically grind to a halt (compared to these first weeks). If price hasn't goine up significantly till then (>20sat), nobody would want to mine KARM anymore.
So either this coin is dead by then (hope not), or people who didn't sell low today will be very happy campers.
yeah, and we have to make sure the coins get spread out accordingly. do not worry about coin hoarders. greed will take care of that. who holds at 2 satoshi will sell at 6. then this new bag holder will sell at 10. this newer guy will sell at 15. and so on the bag will be passed around. only thing is that amount of pay vs sell count will start reducing. i:e some one who will invest at 1 btc will get 100 mill coins at 1 satoshi. 50 mill at 2 satoshi and so on.. meaning once this coin start rolling into high satoshis. who ever buys it will be more.
think of this way. assuming everyone invests 1 btc.
i buy 100 mill coins with 1 BTc @1satoshit (aka Sat) ---- one seller , one buyer @1BTC
i sell 100 mill coins for 3 BTCs proffit @3Sat ----- one seller , three buyers. @ 1 BTC
these buyers now each own 33 mill. they each sell for 2 BTc proffit @6 Sat ----- three sellers, six buyers @ 1 BTC
the new buys have each own 16.5 mill. They sell for 2 BTc proffit @ 12 Sat ----- six sellers , 12 Buyers @ 1 BTc
and so on
So far this 100 mills are distributed to 12 wallets. Which is better then only me holding them at 1 wallet. The thing is, people do not buy in with full BTc. probably the average is 0.010BTC buy order. so imagine how it splits around.
This is why we constantly need new people converted into this coins. if they hold any coins. it is a guarantee that they will sell it to at least two more wallets : )
