I wouldn't mind a surprise, in a different way, I went for a Liverpool win of course but if I lose and everyone else loses (like what happened with brighton lol) then I don't mind.
I don't think anyone is going for even a draw in the match except I saw few members who take the whole lot of risk and always go with underdog. Surprisingly they are doing well on the pool overall. For example buwaytress but it's Liverpool and I know for sure he will not do anything against the team he likes the most 🤣

A 1 - 1 will make you happy. I can not remember what my pick in this match. I always find it difficult to pick a draw and even when I pick I never get the correct one LOL

I haven't locked my picks yet but I'm thinking of picking a Chelsea win for this huge game today. I just want to act with my intuitions for this challenging game honestly. Chelsea have improved their results quite much lately. It looks like things are going on better with Potter for now. The point loss against Brentford was a surprise to me but their effort was still not poor there.

When it comes to Manchester United they have done a really good job in big games so far. However we haven't seen them winning this kind of a game as the away team. We all remember how Manchester City destroyed them in Etihad.  Grin  I don't compare Chelsea to them of course but I just think that Manchester United will have problems in Stamford Bridge. I wouldn't pick a comfortable win like 2-0 etc. for Chelsea either of course.

I don't care who else is winning and who else is losing today. Maybe I will wish for the teams who are above Liverpool on the table lose points but that's impossible wish. City is going to destroy Brighton to recover the point they lost in the last match against Liverpool. Whatever it is, I am off to watch Liverpool starting in 15 minutes. Lets make it a 0 - 8 🤣

So, what happens to Countinho now that Steven Gerrard has left? Steven was the only one who remained hopeful and attempted to resurrect his career, and he turned down offers from other clubs to play for Villa because of S. Gerrard.

No idea, but yeah they kind of ran him ragged at Villa, he was not only hard running, he was twisting all over the place way too often and way too desperately. Felt so bad for him.

I am usually against manager changes but this one was sort of necessary. It is not just the bad results but total lack of ideas going forward. Villa under Gerard is one of the most boring clubs in Premier League and I avoided their games on purpose.

Yesterday's game against Fulham was just the last drop to push owners into action.

Same here, manager changes not my style, at least not so fast, but I can't really fault this one either. He was given the transfers he asked for -- Villa still played good football though I thought when I watched... just tried to rely on only one or two creative outlets named Coutinho.

^  Yup...  It's almost like they don't have an identity if you watch how they play.  I'm a Gerrard fan and I like that he was loyal to Liverpool during his playing days.  But seeing him as manager and how his Villa squad plays like is a good thing because it almost felt like he's the next in line to be LFC manager after Klopp.  They dodged a bullet there imho.

Who knows what Gerrard can bring to Liverpool? As an ex player I am sure his motivation to managing Liverpool would be at least several times higher than managing Aston Villa, for him Aston Villa was a learning experience which lasted as it lasted but a few things I am sure Gerrard has learned there.

In fact I would like to see someone from Liverpool managing the team, and I would not be sad if Gerrard took over,I think Klopp era has ended in the sense that he has got nothing more to give to the club, for this year this comes especially more true than ever.

I still think Gerrard wasn't quite ready, as I am sure I mentioned last season. I was of course happy for him when he took Villa, and it seemed initially pretty much a match made in heaven, and I know Klopp also eyes him as a successor (if not immediately, then spiritually).

Him helming Liverpool I believe is what the fans and club want, but they all know it's not going to be for a while more. Experience, wisdom, you can only buy those with time.

Decided to watch Nottingham Forest game but hmm not so good for Liverpool at half time? I was so surprised Trent didn't play again in choice of Milner, he was used two times as sub so why not play him against promoted side?

United have won all their games against the big clubs except City which is actually beyond a big club for 5 seasons. Chelsea have lost Kante for basically the whole season which is really sad also because I support France in WC as second choice to Spain!

A 1 - 1 will make you happy. I can not remember what my pick in this match. I always find it difficult to pick a draw and even when I pick I never get the correct one LOL

points make me happy, I don't care which team wins here Wink

Anyway, I'm close to giving up.  It's getting closer to a point where making my predictions at Superbru is starting to be a waste of time.  Good luck to the guys at the top.

Dunno man...  From what he showed being Aston Villa manager, I don't think the Liverpool brass would even give him a look if 'Klopp's era' is really at an end.  Gerrard just isn't the kind of guy who could take Liverpool and outdo what Klopp has recently done for the club.  I think it's gonna be something like Dalglish's time at the club.  Full of hope but an empty trophy cabinet.  He won't last two years imho.

Edit:  Nottingham - Liverpool still 0 - 0 at HT.  VVD anytime goal scorer at 10.25 live.  Wink

Liverpool win over City is probably best way to off-set this season for them, most thought they will now start playing, but win over West Ham, where later missed penalty, and now they cannot score against Forest (purely on statistics, not watching the match), losing 1:0

waiting for later matches and scores, especially Everton

It is easy to win against Manchester City but to score on City Ground, that is totally different problem Smiley By the way City Ground is the name of NFO stadium if you did not get punt.

Watched second half of the game and I must say Liverpool did not impress me at all. They had some possession but Alisson was their best player and only one they can thank they did not loose 3:0. Seems like this will be a season to forget and maybe try to do something in Champions League.

How come Liverpool lost against Nottingham Forest the true weakest team of the league, most probably Liverpool was way relaxed in this game as the good results were coming their way.I think it is more the fault of Liverpool rather than the merit of Nottingham as I have seen them quite in some games and they have nothing as a team so this is an astonishing result for Nottingham and equally bad for Liverpool.

Also Everton winning is a surprise result for me as I thought Crystal Palace to be the boring team that gets many draws when they play most of the time in the Premier League, this round has started in an extremely bad way for me.

Yes, statistically it is already a completely lost season. If I remember correctly, the English champions can afford to lose 20-25 points in a season. In rare cases, you can become a champion by losing a little more than 30 points. Liverpool have already lost 17 points in 11 games - less than a third of the league. Even if they use some magic and start winning every game, they literally have no right to make any mistakes.

He was desperate for a permanent contract and to show that he was still relevant in Europe; he played well in his few games last season but has fallen off this season ( for the few times I have watched him this season)

I hope Liverpool does not make the same mistake that Chelsea did with Lampard. Steven is not ready for the bigger challenge and pressure of managing a team like Liverpool right now, and he lacks the experience to manage a large group of players. Staying with the Rangers might have been a better option for gaining more experience.

What happened? Salah only made four successful passes all game. Another Sanchez and Hazard-type player? incoming? Liverpool made Forest look like a prime Barcelona team.

Even in the Champions League, I would say that 1-4 from Napoli is an unacceptable result. But in general, it is too early to think about changing Klopp - the team is still playing in a suboptimal line-up and we need to look at the results when the team is in the "planned" composition. On the other hand, you can't wait until the situation comes to a situation like with Atlético Madrid, where it seems to me that Simeone has already exhausted all his ideas and the team is slowly but steadily degrading from year to year. Even good coaches need to be fired sometimes, this is an unpleasant reality.

Nottm Forest vs Liverpool, Let it not surprise us please.

I wouldn't mind a surprise, in a different way, I went for a Liverpool win of course but if I lose and everyone else loses (like what happened with brighton lol) then I don't mind.

United vs Chelsea is the one everyone needs to surprise us though, and not with 0-0!! I have BTTS and since we have no Ronaldo playing I think the team will be very very different style.

What else can I say, they've won at City twice this season, but they've lost more than that to teams way worse from City, I wouldn't say Nottingham deserve to win the game but it's just hard a loss to after just winning against Man City a few days ago.

Man United vs Chelsea is still pretty much even, and it could be anyone's game.

And missed first-time attempts. Many games in a row he's done that if my memory doesn't have holes. Same reason I've been saying since start. We haven't rested our boys, and I mean actual holiday/vacation time. We did that really dumb Thai thing for sponsors of course, understandable, but we played all possible games last season, everyone's just too bloody tired to regain sharpness.

Forest weren't good, we were just poor. It's a bit of a problem we're also experimenting a lot with different formations, but anyway, no excuse, we're just poor, making okay teams look good.

Champions League glory, hopefully, and/or cup progress. Just hope Arsenal don't falter as I expect because City winning again is boring.

Finally, my first yellow cap and it didn't even bump me several places up as I thought it would Roll Eyes, I guess the competition in this pool is outrageous and needs one to be on top of their game to be among the top.

Congrats on the yellow cap, I hope to get one some day, lol.  This is my third year participating, and I have yet to even come close.

I still think Gerrard wasn't quite ready, as I am sure I mentioned last season. I was of course happy for him when he took Villa, and it seemed initially pretty much a match made in heaven, and I know Klopp also eyes him as a successor (if not immediately, then spiritually).

I didn't know much about Gerard until I heard the news of him getting axed.  But I am surprised by this discussion.  Isn't a bit premature to talk about Klopp's successor?  Am I unaware of something Klopp said that makes people think he's going to step down?  Because I really can't see LFC ownership forcing him out after one bad season.

Anyway, I'm close to giving up.  It's getting closer to a point where making my predictions at Superbru is starting to be a waste of time.  Good luck to the guys at the top.

NOOooo, that's not good news for me, lol.  I'm 7 places behind you at the moment, but realistically two or three good weeks could put either one of us in contention for a prize.  Not that winning anything is the whole point, it's just fun to gauge my predictions against others.  I hope you change your mind.

Well, this weekend's predictions have been rather difficult for me.  So many potential upsets, including MU keeping Chelsea from scoring at home.  It feels like any correct prediction I come up with this weekend is pure luck.

When Salah looks lost in games like this, Mane makes a difference, and the decision to let Mane leave was a terrible idea, Even if some of their fan base refuses to admit it, the club would regret the priest decision at the end of the season.

Throughout the game, Forest had only one assignment (fall deep and play on counter), which paid off.

Is the Premier League really that difficult? Or the teams are inconsistent; it's been two months and Totteham, Chelsea, and Manchester United are still struggling.

Salah - Mane > KDB - Haaland

Things would have gone way differently for Liverpool if Mane stay this season. Salah needs someone to really pull up those defenders to another side while he runs in from another side just like what Mane usually did, they both done pretty much the same thing to one another but currently Salah has to do all those by himself

Imagine losing to Nottingham Forest that only scored 7 goals out of the last 12 games prior to this

It looks like there is no magic left for them if you see against which teams they are losing or drawing, the fact that Liverpool has lost so many points in just 11 games says a lot about them.I as a fan am not happy at all with Klopp and I think the team management needs to take serious measures to bring Liverpool at the top level again, even if it costs the replacing of the coach.

I think klopp can still do a lot for the club, liverpool really need a solution where they can deliver their magic like we’re used to.Frankly, mane’s departure for the club has left a huge, irreplaceble void.
^^
Liverpool must look for player who can help salah in the front line to open the defender’s gaps.
I got 1 point there in pool, i didn’t lock up my choices i’ll make some changes to avoid losing more points in my eyes tomorrow arsenal

This is something I'd slightly agree with, Liverpool would have been with Mane without Salah, than with Salah no Mane, Mane have always had the best work rate and ethic between both players and often he lifts the club in attack while Salah gets most of the credit as the golden boy, Mane really deserve more credit than he got at Liverpool and that's got to do the with Salah preference even by the fans, Mane covers the whole of his flank and help Robertson in defend the left flank, TAA and Salah wings weren't really exposed due to VVD and Matip being at the top of their, so it was more about defensively how good VVD and Matip plus Allison were and not which easily gets exposed to those attacking breaks.
