I have some questions before I buy.

First, you are heavily advertising your price protection, but you provide no actual specifics about what this means. If I buy at 1.45 from you, and BitMain drops price to 1.1 before my order is delivered, will you give me a partial refund and still deliver the device?

Second, do these ship direct from the factory to me, or do they stop at your facility and, if so, where is your facility and how many days is this expected to add to the overall delivery?

Thanks for answering these questions

until now all shipped directly to buyer , guess this GB will be in same way .

if you think that i deserve it

Hi Sushi!

If I order through the site, is it a flat fee of 1.45 BTC shipped to the US for me, no other customs fees right?  Or does the $120 get charged on top of the 1.45 BTC?

Trying to decide between this and Ninjatech which is the Bitmain US reseller at the same price point.

Thanks,

Chuck

You have to pay for the customs. The price of the S1 in this (each) gb does not include any customs fee that you have experience.

Thanks

Could you (or anyone from USA who has ordered before) expand on this a bit?  Does that mean that when the package arrives in the US I will need to go pick it up somewhere to pay the fee?  How exactly does it work?

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.

In the US, computer accessories have a 0% tax, so we do not have to pay anything.  Delivery by UPS as any other delivery.

Some countries, such as EU/Soviet Union, etc, have relatively high customs, so they have to pay the government for import.

Has anyone had one of these shipped to UK?

2 of them and import duty is 60-70£ for 2 units.

Thanks, bit the bullet and ordered 1. Now for the wait - hope it's not BFL epic like.

This is my last purchase for one item:
Customs Charge: £35.00
Delivery Info:
China   18/01/2014   03:07   Order Processed: Ready for UPS
Shenzhen, China   18/01/2014   22:40   Arrival Scan

Tamworth, United Kingdom   20/01/2014   04:16   Arrival Scan
Tamworth, United Kingdom   20/01/2014   14:02   Delivered

Tamworth is roughly 9miles away from me and it took 10hrs to get to me despite going halfway around world - The company he uses to get shipped is great - it just falls down when it hits us in the UK.

I've ordered on a few of sushi's group buys before. Delivery in the US (west coast) has been extremely fast every time -- 1-2 days from shipment, in one case I think actual delivery was before the original promised ship date!  No customs charge. Could not be happier with the service provided.

There aren't any duties/fees on imported computer goods in the US. Smiley

The AntMiner S1 package will be delivered to your doorstep, no signature required, just like a package coming from Amazon or any other domestic package for that matter.

You can sign up for UPS MyChoice and request it be held at the nearest UPS location for free or nearest UPS Store for $5/package if you are worried about someone stealing your miner.

How Price Protection Works.

If Bitmain reduce the sales price on Feb 13th shipping batch at 1.40 BTC, and your Antminer purchase shipped on Feb 11th, you will receive 0.05 BTC discount coupons for the future purchase per your Antminer Purchase.

If Bitmain announces on Feb 13th that the new price would be 1.40 BTC on the Feb 17th batch, then the price protection will not kick in as the new lower price is not available until Feb 17th shipping date vs Feb 11th shipping date (+3 days).

3 day price protection is based on the actual shipping date!!   Grin Grin Grin

So Bitmaintech ships in batches on 8th, 13th and 17th ?

I'm order 454 (ordered just after you announced the new pricing in the old thread, before this thread went up).
Can't wait to get this up and running. If all goes well (and the noise level is decent) I'll be ordering a bunch more Smiley

Over clocked antminer will pull about 480-560W depends on the PSU you use...  It could be possible but pushing the limit

its a TX850M as posted above, so 280 for overclocked cube and max 560 for S1 = 840 hopefully will be good, if not have to hit newegg again Smiley

It is really depends on your PSU.  You will need 2 rails +12V for the Antminer for SURE, NO SHARING with the cube...

The power supply is capable of putting out 70A on the +12V which is the rail you will be using. Figure on the high side the antminer will take  46A, figure likely 250W for the Cube, or roughly 21A that sets you at 67A which is 95.7% of capacity on that rail. You could, but it doesn't leave much room for any fluctuation on that rail and personally I would not chance it.

It's very tempting...though I have some thoughts.

Per spec, an S1 draws 360W at the wall @ 180GH/s (2W/GH/s).

According to my own benchmark on the U1 clocked at 2GH/s, it draws 3.2W at the wall (1.6W/GH/s).  Therefore, 90 U1s yielding a similar hash rate as an S1 (90 x 2GH/s = 180GH/s) would collectively draw only 288W at the wall (90 x 3.2W = 288W).

I suppose the difference in price/GH would make up for such disparity (i.e. assuming my math is correct).
