I deleted that Bitcoin URI file and it appears everything is fine! What an obscure fix... How would the average mintcoin user know that I have no idea. Thanks though!
Another question: I have held Mintcoin in my wallet for about 18 months but have not ran the wallet that frequently. Does that affect my minting of coins? Do I still get the same amount minted regardless of how often I ran the wallet?
It helps to secure the network if you keep it connected. If if you rarely connect it will affect you as you will lose the effect of compounding. Since newly minted coins will help you mint even more coins once those coins mature. So the compounding effect.

Question: Did mintcoin POS just half? (or so) I minted on June 01 (approx 352,000 minted) and just now on June 21 (approx 196,000 minted) and the later was 1/2 (or so) of the former. What happened?

More than likely, the minting got split, and if you keep your wallet unlocked, another minting will happen shortly for the other half. Check to see if you still have coins mature. The network splits up your minting if you are minting quickly after your coins mature. The reason it does this is to help ensure there is a balance in difficulty over time, and gradually reduce the spikes of weight when larger than average amounts of coins become mature. After you wait 20 days, your coins mature and will attempt to start minting. If they mint within 10 days, they will be split up. If they don't mint within 10 days, then they won't be split up.

June 01 was 2x 176,000 mint June 21 was 2x 98,000 mint considerably less than 20 days ago So I'm wondering what changed, was it planned, etc...... That's a pretty good size bite outta the POS

In case you are wondering: The Bitcoin network is currently being stress tested. Any Bitcoin "BTC" transactions you currently try to do will likely be delayed a couple of days!
"At this point the backlog of transactions will be approximately 241 blocks, or 1.67 days. When the average new transactions are factored into the equation, the backlog could drag on for 2-3 days." https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1094865.0Another good reason to be in MINT!

Hey guys I put up a free version of my explorer for MINT. It is located at mint.presstab.pw. If as a community you would like to pitch in a some mint or btc (I wouldn't mind having a little stake bag to hold) then I can add the indexing for full address capability (balance charts, richlist, etc).
Hope you guys enjoy!

Still waiting for Cryptsy to fix their wallet -_- There is what, probably 500,000,000 coins trapped there right now. That is probably, why you see such strange price action. ..the coin is wanting to rise, but is being held back. Price is very cheap on Cryptsy but those coins are basically worthless at the moment, so coins on other exchanges are going for more, but they don't want to disconnect too much from Cryptsy ... So the market is officially confused. Yeap, you couldnt have said it better! I dont really want to buy at cryptsy because knowing them the wallet may be in maintance for another month, but when it opens you can get lots of cheap coins there! I will sure keep an eye for that. THanks both for the info Cryptsy is fixed now, in case you didn't know.

Simple answer: Supply & Demand Some possibilities: The minting reward will be decreasing by 66% within about 1 more year. Currently 15% annual rate, dropping to 10% in a few months. ...By about this time next year, the reward drops another 50% to 5% annually. So the coin is going to get rarer, and it is a great coin. I like the name too, MINT. You can start minting Mintcoins more mintcoins just by holding onto them. No mining equipment required. Purchasing the mintcoins is like purchasing mining gear too because it is built into it - because the coins self-replicate themselves; it is very efficient. So the more you buy, the more you will mint new coins, and the more you buy, also makes the price rise, so you can get compounding returns on the future mintings. It is actually a very sweet deal. There is a limited supply, so increasing demand, causes a rise in price. Sort of like how one-of a kind art can be worth mega-millions, and tend to rise in price over time, MINT is unique too.

Here a screen cap of the mintings this month. http://www.azillion.com/samples/mintcoin.jpgI had to link to it because it would not insert, sorry. So..... any ideas as to why the minting was 40% or so less on June 22 than on June 01? when I actually had more coins on June 22 because of previous minting. Has anybody else had this happen to them? etc......
