Can anyone, maybe from someone from the community?, compile a new wallet with the following solved and replace the old one in the 1st post and on mintcoin.cc ?: - unlock wallet bug - Slow startup time, atm the time between clicking the executable and the GUI appearing takes average 8 minutes (windows 8. ) I believe fixing the above is crucial for new mintcoin users to have a good first impression and keep using mintcoin. We'll talk about the blockchain 30+ hours syncing another time If anyone is already working on the wallet, when can we expect a new one released? Thanks.

I have already implemented a fix for the load time of the client. It takes my windows machine from a 7 minute load time to under one minute. I will push it over to the official repo in a bit.

Great, thanks for the work! I can imagine new users clicking the wallet executable many times because nothing would show up. Now we just need unlock wallet bug solved and get the improved wallet on the official mintcoin channels! BTW. there's a bug in mintcoin wallet 1.9.1: - I've got the wallet encrypted and locked. - Going to the send screen, entering a valid address and amount - then clicking Send does not show the unlock wallet where you can enter a passphrase, nothing happens. - I first have to click unlock wallet button and only then I can send coins. short: The "Unlock wallet" window should appear when clicking send and the wallet is locked.

Eliminating a problem at an early stage of adoption is important. Nothing worse for a newbie than being discouraged before they even effectively get started. Your contribution will have more of an impact on adoption than rumors of "big news" posts. Thanks.

I believe there was a similar (if not the same) unlock wallet bug issue with the Peercoin wallet for the longest time last year. They finally implemented a fix for it around client version 1.4 I believe. Maybe check out the Peercoin wallet to see what they did to fix it.

can't wait to know the big news. do anyone know about it? They are working on multiple fronts. One is along these lines... The Mintcoin devs are working on big things behind the scenes.... A lot of it has to do with setting the foundation for acquiring MAJOR merchant adoption. Mintcoin is the perfect coin for micro-payments and online payments because all transactions are complete within 2 minutes. Eventually, (hopefully not too much longer) once all of the groundwork for mainstream acceptance is ready and released, Mintcoin will be the coin to own.

Stop Mining. Start Minting. Mintcoin [MINT] 5% annual minting reward. Mintcoins don't wear out like mining gear. They keep on minting!

Mintcoin looks to be getting bagged on a bit here: http://www.fairlaunch.com/threads/whats-happening-with-mintcoin.14/Would appreciate help moving in to defend MINT. Mintcoin has a lot of potential and the development team is really moving forward getting a whole revival mission going. Hopefully, if done right and marketed well, it could really take off. I will see what resources I can gather because once the marketing launches, I want to do my part as well and really get the word out. The dev team will be pushing out their marketing efforts and getting others involved. I will also be running something concurrently to magnify the effects. Really, if you haven't picked up a lot of Mintcoin, now would be the time to do it. Because once the marketing starts, the prices will start shooting up to high levels and it will be harder and harder to buy in by the day. All it takes is one whale willing to jump in and the price will make acquiring Mintcoin difficult. I don't want to talk up Mintcoin too much because I want the prices to remain low for me to get more. But, this is the truth of the matter and the development team will be focussing on marketing and advertising. If done right, it could have a major and profound effect. Marketing can be very powerful and it can really move markets in a big way and fast. One tweet tripled the price of Mintcoin a few weeks ago, just one tweet. Twitter will be a part of my marketing campaign.

Spend your time working on Mintcoin related endeavors if you really want to help the coin.

No problem, the pull request is submitted, and I leave it to the mintcointeam to decide how to implement the change.

This quote from another thread: " Now that Apple has officially allowed a Bitcoin app in the iOS app store, why not be the first alt-coin to have an iPhone Wallet? It would be an a great attention getter!" Let's beat 'em! If I had any coding knowledge, I'd be workin' the heck outta this...

We need to get the new and correct block explorer updated on http://coinmarketcap.com/The block explorer is not correct, and coinmarketcap is therefore understating Mintcoin's market capitalization!Mintcoin has more than 19,228,164,406 coins in circulation now, but coinmarketcap is using this number, from the time the old block explorer went down. We need to contact them and get them to use http://mint.blockexplorer.cc/chain/MintCoin
