i think it has a simple reason and that is because when they spread this kind of FUD it is effective. which means whenever there is a surge of FUDs about bitcoin being dead spreading across the internet there are a lot of holders that panic and start selling which will help the FUD spreaders to fill their pockets with cheaper coins.

If it wasn't for the huge loss people probably wouldn't say bitcoin is dead. Still, we all know bitcoin is still doing fine.
