Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

My sensation is that the long term community, the one who loves science and the ideals of EMC2, is slowly growing. You can feel it by reading the latest posts. At the same time speculators with short term horizons are leaving, looking for gambling on the coins which enjoy the momentary hype of the crypto-casino. As soon as our beautiful long term oriented community will gain sufficient critical mass, buyers should finally beat sellers and prices should start to rise again and make each of us much happier, and hopefully much much much happier.
I'm sorry that Bob got frustrated - as far as I've understood he's a nice and passionate guy, but also a very impulsive and emotional one. Don't be too angry at him, he did a lot for the coin and one day he may get in love with EMC2 again.

Hi everyone, I never posted before, but I think so it's the moment that any supporter, miner, trader, holder of EMC2 should talk. So first, thanks to the devs, the foundation and to anyone who is spreading the word for EMC2. A lot of great job has been done. I'm a gpu miner, a rig tinker. I almost quit of CC after the tsunami of badnews, exchange scams, junkcoins and other bs, I thought that everything at CC starts to be hopeless and meaningless. Just a virtual ponzi casino. But 6 weeks ago I discovered EMC2 and I thought "finally a CC with a PURPOSE!!!". Not just a another coin to donate, but a tool itself to provide the research community a source of direct funding. So some hashing and holding EMC2. Now may be it's time to stepforward to try to strenght the community. Imho I believe one of the key adds to the coin and to the foundation will be to open an official forum to organize the community... together we'll support the devs, we'll help the foundation, we'll expand and we'll keep the FUD out of the coin. If we sum all our efforts may be we can achive the purpose that motivated us to develop, spread, mine, trade and donate EMC2. May be we're just a bunch of fools scattered around the globe, but a lot of meaning things started like that. So +1 to anything to that direction, for me is worth to try. All hands on deck!!!  |

In terms of the community aspect outside of bitcoin talk. We do have an official subreddit and I would like more activity there. It would probably be the best place since we have an active tipbot there. I should note, I am still running a little giveaway about posting there, including what direction we should go as a team. With that being said, an official forum may help, I am not sure if we are at that point, and I am also not sure if it has any advantage over a subreddit. The other question is maintenance, adminstration and upkeep of such a place. With that being said, I will present it as a potential item on the development task list item. |

I retract my last statement people are stupid period... rather make Pennies over Dollars.. we could be at 400 without issue but nope they don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel they just start digging a new one

Everyone is busy at times, let it go and move forward.
Don't ruin a reputation that has taken months to build.
Let me be very clear on this, he left. There are those of us are still working on this organization. If it has been a bit more quiet for the last few days it is because we had to discuss some steps we are planning out with those still involved. Things don't always go as planned and re-adjusting is not an easy task, especially when one is trying to build something. Some people have the patience to work through this, others do not. The organization should be posting some bounties soon though based on input from the community, and our own goals. I should note, many of us have personal lives, and at times things come up where they are not as available for a period. This happens to people working on a team, sometimes they just cannot do as much. This is in addition to the normal churn that happens, people come and go. The team members of Einsteinium are no exception to this. There are a few of us who essentially are there, and will be there for the long run, but there are those who leave for their own reasons. Those with us though have to work in the constraints of their own life. |

The simple unequivocal fact is, you have well documented proof of nonperformance, at this point the EMC2 plan has failed to produce expected results. A true believer can pray to a higher power for a miraculous recovery, or accept the facts as provided ... the current plan failed, the market value is empirical evidence of that fact. It is best that the current cadre of EMC2 disciples acknowledge and accept the evidence responsibly. To grow from the current failure EMC2 (everyone in general, leadership most particularly) should conduct itself more 'ethically': true operational transparency, removal of hype-driven market values, addition of consensus valuation, pay awards only in EMC2 (no other currency), limit award to planned gift level (no additional fundraising), and acknowledge the fiduciary responsibility to EMC2 investors. |

maybe you're ideals are such, but einsteinium is neither fundamentally rooted in nor supported by pure science. All economic and financial systems (such as EMC2) are fundamentally "rooted in" and "supported by" very irrational and sometimes greedy human beings. therefore, as with any other financial system such as the USD or Bitcoin, a great deal of Faith, Hope and Trust most certainly are needed. with EMC2 you need to have Faith in the Cryptography and Community, you need to have Hope that the economy grows and you need to Trust that the coins you own are actually redeemable for something. |
