no it's not an abandoned coin. the devs pop in here quite a bit. they are working on redoing the website and launching services for the coin. they said April should be a huge month.

What now?A price is funny now.... sell or keep it?

Whats gonna hapening in  april?

if I was you i'd keep it. you will not get much for it now. do you really need the bitcoin for it? i would think if you are patient you will see the price rise. in Arpril there will be announcements about the services and the coin from the devs.

Holding is the only option!  Wink

Thanks for reply and advice.I will keep it.

The last time I was there, I dropped my hashes ... it's going nowhere, it takes too long to find a block (few miners and lots of BAD luck, I guess) ... and then, you get orphaned Sad

I'm sorry, but I'm better off now. Best of luck, but no more of my hashes.

Ugh, Tweek, I'd answer that but I've been dealing with so much crap today I don't even remember right now..

I'll tell you guys one thing, though. Dealing with this coin has been a pleasure and a pretty smooth experience. Some other coins, which I will not name, have serious problems and make a pool sysop's life a nightmare. Anyway, my point is that I've been busy so please forgive me for delaying the giveaway until tomorrow!

This has been a pretty slow week so the pot isn't that great, hopefully whatever the devs have in store for us will get the hashrates kicking again! I like to be able to offer up a fat prize, but I can't do that if we're averaging 10MH, so get your butts in here and mine! http://888.fedaykin.us

Also, stratum has been integrated into the main site, 888US.fedaykin.us should point at it too so you shouldn't have to change any miner configs. God, I'm tired. Good night everyone.
That's no problem, do you have a bit more time today to answer it? If you could please send it to me in a pm, it gets kinda hard to follow all the different threads after a while.

1.  First of all, are the devs still around?
2. This coin needs another exchange, nobody wants to trade on cryptorush anymore (another 1,500,000 stolen Blackcoin today)
+ cant withdraw my BTCs, website is offline all the time.
We need to get on Mintpal or Cryptsy quick!

I agree I would much rather be on one of those two sites. I feel bad for CR getting DDOS'd and BC stolen.... that site has had issues before but it's been really bad ever since BC was listed.

We just all need to keep pushing for those two exchanges.

I'm sure the devs will post soon. I really wish they were more active.... but for now i'll have patience.

I think you had our pool confused with another, we have 0 orphans, feel free to check. We have found 700 blocks however you are right we do lack the hashes and where as we are finding blocks, its nowhere near enough for some short-term miners who like regular smaller payouts.

That being said I have taken your negative, publically unsupportive criticisms on board and decided to close this pool for the foreseeable future.

As another pool closes, the number of active pools for this coin drops. Without the support of the community helping our pools to promote this coin, what will be the fate of Octocoin?

Something weird happening to Octo Huh

Devs, what's up? Pools are dying like flies and it's not because they don't have miners - they're kind of collapsing. I'm down to the last one Tongue

Anybody having same troubles or is it just me that picked the wrong set of pools?

(...) not enough for some short-term miners who like regular smaller payouts.

So, you don't like miners that do small regular payouts? Strange, I thought  you wanted miners, not just some special kind of miners that for some reason will always mine in your pool, no matter what! Should have posted that on your pool announcement Wink

That being said I have taken your negative, publically unsupportive criticisms on board and decided to close this pool for the foreseeable future.

Well, closing a poll that has no miners is somewhat logical, you do have costs, for sure. Come back when you fell good again and willing to take any miner, even those pesky sob's that weren't satisfied first time around Cheesy

As another pool closes, the number of active pools for this coin drops. Without the support of the community helping our pools to promote this coin, what will be the fate of Octocoin?[/size]

So true, so true (see my previous post). But then again, you ain't doing much to support it now, are you?
Don't want to be unfair, but bitching about lack of support isn't supporting - maybe you're doing something else I don't see/know about?

Anyway, there's something weird when a pool as several tens of miners and suddenly are all banned and hash rate drops to zero - and yes, I've been supporting small pools since launch, including yours for some time.
Right now, I'm on my last small pool, 'cause they're working  ... lets see for how long Sad

We like all miners mostly, however there are some miners who join a pool for 10 minutes and expect to see a payout, these guys just don't understand how the mining works.

We set up a pool with 0% fee and even did regular bonuses from our own pockets, literally giving out free Octocoins to promote this coin and you're saying we are unsupportive. Ha! That clearly shows how much you know or think you know.

We wish you all the luck in the world buddy. We're out and unfollowing this thread.

Adios amigo.

P.S. If you have Octocoins with us, please withdraw them, the pool will be decommissioned on 31st March 2014.

I hope it helped you relief some disappointment by making this personal and taking it out on me, as if I'm anyone that is able to influence  miners into or out of your pools. You give me way to much credit!

Best of luck for your other pools!  I'll be sure to keep my hash and my bad influence away, don't want to ruin the crypto scene for you, LOL

If there are any Octos there, you're welcomed to them, they are yours - a farewell gift, sort of.

Adios

Devs, what's wrong, the network is having some sort of trouble - no confirmations for a few hours now, blockchain seems to be stuck?
Pools are dying fast ...

Is Octo dead? Forked? Bugged??
