Yeah it can always be a bumpy ride when you're the first with a new product Cheesy The best part is that the team is very very active, every stage brings major improvements Cheesy

Hey alicea. We can't give an ETA for that for right now, but we will make an announcement as soon as we are able to.

Alright, I will wait for an official announcement from your team then but in your opinion do you think they will restore the feature by the end of this year?

Hey, @veilMaDOS can you please give us any ETA on when the anonymity feature will come back for staking rewards?

Currently you can still stake anonymously. It’s not the same level of anonimity Zerocoin provided however. The way to stake anonymously currently is this: mint your RingCT coins into Zerocoin. This way when you win a stake, the only thing an observer can see is a member of the ringsignature won the stake. Once we allow RingCT to stake by itself this will be more obvious as it wont require extra work from the end user in order to stake anonymously.

So in short:

1. you can stake anonynously by minting from RingCT
2. this will change into directly staking from RingCT in the short term(basically making Veil a gpu minable/PoS hybrid Monero)
3. mid/long term we will have Sonic, which will provide very strong anonimity once again.

I am using Windows 10 64-bit. Do you think that 64-bit architecture could be a problem?
I used a lot of alt-wallets and never had such problem. You have coins, but you can´t manage them.  Roll Eyes

Can you give us more details on when you experience the crashing? Is it after any particular command or wallet action?

Mine used to close during synchronization, but this doesn't happen anymore. They promised a new version with some bugs fixed, but from what I've read there's no date set yet.

That wallet has already been announced and released. This update fixes the crashing while syncing issue. We haven't gotten confirmed incidents of it yet, as far as I know.

Nope, I don't think so because I too am using a 64-bit version of W10. Just make sure though that you are using a 64bit version of the wallet.

Thank you for your help but I am using correct version for my computer.
The wallet crashes immediately after a start, that´s why I prefer online solutions because it reduces the number of such bugs.

The wallet does not synchronize effectively. It stops just before the end ... It should solve the problem, because it's really a basic problem for a good development team ...

Is the crash upon startup giving you an error notification? If so, you might need to resync your wallet. We recommend using a snapshot to make this process faster. If you already have a snapshot downloaded from before, you may opt to use that as well.

We understand that it is frustrating to encounter problems with the Veil wallet, and we are here to try to help you with them. Please let us know if we can be of assistance.

Syncing tends to slow down by a lot during the last 10% of sync. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing.

If you are not seeing any movement on the block height after 20 seconds, you can try this solution:

1. Go to Settings > Advanced Options > Console
2. Type in command getbestblockhash
3. Copy the result that the wallet gives you
4. Paste that result to reconsiderblock PASTERESULTHERE

I hope this helps.

Sorry, I've already downloaded this version, but it doesn't appear as v1.0.3.1 but as v1.0.3.0 (I don't know if this is a problem), and for now it hasn't closed as before.

I believe that is just the naming scheme used in our wallet binaries - it only goes as far as the third digit. As long as you download the files under the 1.0.3.1 release tag on GitHub then you should good to go. Smiley

You can also double check which version you are using in the wallet by going to Help > About Veil Core.

Hi,

I am having extreme difficulty with wallet.    I am by no means new to wallets and crypto and have been mining for several years.  I have been having issues converting zerocoin to basecoin.   now it is a wallet issue.  I have had the wallet crash on one pc.   cannot seem to reinstall.  Other laptop failed loading blockchain at 95% twice, I had to uninstall and now reinstalling again.    Bigger picture,  If you want the masses to adopt your product and vision, it has to be more user friendly.   I cannot even imagine my lay friends trying to figure this out.   After all, this is what we need to strive for, to win or survive.  Everyone is struggling for market share in the end.

just my 2 cents

I wish you luck

Sorry to hear about your problems. We are aware of current difficulties with the wallet and are hard at work with simplifying the UX. Once we have RingCT staking fully functional there wont be a need to mint anymore which will vastly improve things. And with Sonic we will include a brand new wallet built by ui/ux experts. In the meantime please join our discord where we have 24/7 support for problems with the wallet.
