Here's a PM I received from thekidcoin on June 16th.

Quote from: thekidcoin
I am trying to get some marketing people in place - problem is I have no real budget for it (this I guess is the downfall of not pre-mining coins).  I myself only have 3 million coins at the moment.

Any tip and or do you know of who to contact that may be able to help?

The team that was in place @thecryptoedge (twitter handle he also has @fluttercoin but I am working on a way to to get back) and others did not a thing - barely tweeted, and instead tried to get me to work on side projects that may make him and his people money.  So I basically severed all ties with them.
Have been trying to market the coin on my own now for weeks.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I would like to invite you all to do a little research before dumping your fluttercoin.

Today there were serious accusations pointed at the current standing dev for fluttercoin (thekidcoin) for a hidden block in the coding of their coin.  The coin is QuantumCoin (QTM) and the bitcointalk thread can be found here ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=593438.0;all ).

If you visit the thread, you will notice that 80-95% of the comments are scam related inquiries about the QTM team.  If you go to the bottom, you will notice that there is not one single mention of the whole kidcoin accusation.  I have made a reply asking for their team to come forward and try to clear the situation up.  At this current time, there are a lot of things that do not simply add up.

As a sidenote, I am neither defending or accusing thekidcoin of anything at this moment until we have more answers.

 Information is the strongest tool we have as a cryptocurrency community.  I advise that we don't let it go to waste.

****So again, I please ask all involved with fluttercoin to take 10 minutes of their time reading the tweet as well as their thread to gather smart informed opinions of their own. ****

I'd also like to mention that to this point, the code has been reviewed several times by trusted parties and no traces of a hidden block were ever found.  We will however continue to search for any suspicious coding and will keep the fluttercoin community updated.

Chris20131111 has also put up a bounty for anyone that can find a hidden block in the fluttercoin code and I encourage all that think they are able to do so to try.  I will personally add a 1BTC bounty on top of his as well.

If you are holding fluttercoin right now, you must have believed in it before.  If you're thinking of leaving, I ask what has changed?  The FLT team will be here as well as the skype group to answer any questions or concerns that you might have.

The fluttercoin community is STRONG.  We will prevail through whatever is thrown at us.  We have great minds dedicated to working towards the success of this coin.

Furthermore, if you look at the rich list ( http://chainz.cryptoid.info/flt/#!rich ), you will notice that NONE of the top 10 balances which all hold 2M FLT or more have not decreased much at all.  I am one of those top 10 and I guarantee you I am in for the long run.

So what do you think is the more likely situation concerning this tweet?

It's a pity for sure - you have a very good mindset and we would like to have you in.  Maybe try to create another account ?  An old version ?  Do yoga ?  I wish I was a geek Sad.

Do you have a cellphone ?  Maybe you could load a skype soft like im doing.  Not the best - but better then waiting outside.

i'm am not a coin expert do not pretend to be, I'm not a code expert, do not pretend to be.  But as someone else who has been looking at the code every day for the last week, I cannot see anything out of the ordinary.  The nicety of open source is it allows you to peer review the work.  I encourage each of you to load https://github.com/thekidcoin/fluttercoin, and click on src, and look through things, see what it's doing.

All the coins are listed on the explorer, you can examine blocks, you can examine addreses, you can see where every transaction goes. This is calculated from block 0, it's an open network, coins just don't miraculously appear.

If they did, the code would be pretty obvious and be open to exploit.  We also tend to forget that lots of this code has been forked off known code, and little changes to make them special.  PoT is one of these.  I understand PoW and PoS pretty well, but PoT is still pretty foreign to me understanding how it works.

Little more time...

we were talking about this earlier...on a PoW block with a PoT, the flags on the block look like this on explorer for "raw block"
chaintrust": "404626a868f",
   "previousblockhash": "000000030099fbdb29c48c46e177bcfc718589865ac9612efd01f56e6173e5a0",

   "extraflags": "proof-of-transaction",
   "proofhash": "00000001db51107d9a9c712eb6dade73ba2f6b2cb7d36ebf717918d2507b12f5",

I expect that a PoS block with a PoT  would have proof-of-stake, and extra proof-of-transaction

5000 FLT bounty to someone who can find me a PoS with Pot so I can check something.

Note:  tablet is still dead battery but I think I figured out why my checkpoints were not working, compiling a build to checkpoint block 95000.  Hoping this will let us sync up a bit easier.

Has anyone compiled QT and fluttercoind for windows, or a howto guide I can review on what I need on my windows box to do it.

I challenge anyone and everyone who knows coding to go through and find a hidden block with fluttercoin and post the results here. If I have to setup a btc reward I will. I seriously doubt this coin has any hidden block at all. If it did. What did he do, sell it all for 300 or lower where basically the price has basically always been? There was also no premine. I mined from the very start. Not many people paid attention to this coin until after it was first pumped. Mining was pretty easy the first few weeks. I mined about 100k solo. Had mined more but lost 100k bc of forking issues. Why would he create PoT from scratch and do all the work he did just so he could scam everyone? I dont buy it. Look at all the other scam coins, how many scam coins lasted 4 months and then all of a sudden turn into a scam? Most scams are dumped immediately when they hit exchanges or not very long after.

Did he do a hidden block on  this other coin as claimed? I dont know and without some kind of proof, there is no way of knowing for sure. The silence of course doesnt help his case.

Since you asked, SilkCoin was definitely a long lasting coin that turned into a scamcoin with.

I doubt kidcoin is one of those scam devs, most likely there is some personal issues that needs dealing with.  Devs are people too you know.

ah hell yeah, i had synced up to 95010 or so, and was still 40 off of main...i used my new code and started it up, checkpoint failed!

Loading block index...
Opening LevelDB in /home/ubuntu/.fluttercoin/txleveldb
Transaction index version is 70507
Opened LevelDB successfully
ERROR: CTxDB::LoadBlockIndex() : Failed stake modifier checkpoint height=95000, modifier=0x37210c9bc00450c0

Now it just does this over and over again though, was sure hoping it would be smart enough to know....ok, let me go back to last checkpoint and resync, nope!  Time to resync from block0 Smiley

other notes...we will try to get this resolved again, stupid forks
some of you are still on wrong chain Sad

you know who you are, get synced!  AND YOUR MINING ON IT TOO which just makes the problem worse, ugh!

oh, found this on the PoT on PoS debate...so it doesn't look like it's implemented, and all the POTv2 code is all around PoW Sad  // I thought he finished the PoS part of PoT

we were talking about this earlier...on a PoW block with a PoT, the flags on the block look like this on explorer for "raw block"
chaintrust": "404626a868f",
   "previousblockhash": "000000030099fbdb29c48c46e177bcfc718589865ac9612efd01f56e6173e5a0",
   "flags": "proof-of-work",
   "extraflags": "proof-of-transaction",
   "proofhash": "00000001db51107d9a9c712eb6dade73ba2f6b2cb7d36ebf717918d2507b12f5",

Has anyone compiled QT and fluttercoind for windows, or a howto guide I can review on what I need on my windows box to do it.

seen all PoS blocks from 94840 till 95358 (current block) and haven't found PoT in any of them...

I am thinking about the QTM accusations and I can't seam to comprehend why would @thekidcoin jeopardize his work on FLT for a few lousy BTC made from hiding a block in QTM.
