^^ South Africans are terrific hosts, they are not in mood to embarrass their guest, they believe visiting team is god in covid atmosphere unlike Aussie and Kiwi camp who are thrashing Indians and West Indians respectively. The matches are quite competitive and not as one sided as the India vs Australia matches. Actually I was not expecting South Africa to put up such a good fight. During the last match, the winning margin was quite small. Unfortunately for them, the T20 series is almost over and only one match is remaining. Now they should concentrate on the ODI series, and if they play well they can add some valuable points to the ODI super league.

Some exciting news is in for Cricket Australia. According to TRP stats, the (domestic) TV viewership for both the ODI series (against India) and for the WBBL has reached new record highs. Remember that these matches were not available on free-to-air, and viewers had to go through a paywall to watch them. Despite all this, 585,000 viewers were reported for the second ODI versus India. And an unbelievable number of 429,000 was reported for the final match of the WBBL, between the Sydney Thunder and the Melbourne Stars. This is great news for CA, as they were going through all sorts of financial issues. The viewership stats for the WBBL this year has been exceptional. No one really thought that women's cricket could result in so much viewership. Perhaps the BCCI should take note of this, as CA has proved that women's cricket can be a profit making venture. More details here: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/30419951/odi-wbbl-final-draw-more-1-million-viewers

Teams such as South Africa and Pakistan have seen a deterioration in their standards during the last decade or so. These teams are no longer competitive against the big three teams. In other words, the gap between the big three and the rest is increasing. And for South Africa, there are additional issues to take care of. Players continue to migrate to other countries in search of better salaries and fair treatment. The latest in the list is Devon Conway, who made his debut for New Zealand this week.

Anyone have watched SA vs ENG 3rd T20I. South Africa won the toss and choose the bat first in the 3rd T20 series against England. South Africa made one change, Kagiso Rabada replaced by Lutho Sipamla while England have unchanged. England already won the T20 series by 2-0 so my wishes goes with them.

I do not know what is the issue with the South Africa team, But I can say right now for the Pakistani team that it can beat any big 3 teams, yes it is true that there is a slight flaw in Pak team. But to think all teams are uncompetitive for the 3 big teams, it might not be true. At the end I think big teams also perform poorly, so they can win the match by taking advantage of this.

England Won convincingly 3rd match without breaking a sweat. David Milan came out of nowhere (19 games only) and become No 1 T-20 Batsman in the world. T-20 is done and dusted for Proteas, let's see what happens in the ODI. The way English team is performing continuously, i doubt if Proteas could hold them off.

Yesterday's match showed the depth in talent pool which England possesses and the lack of it for South Africa. Dawid Malan (ironically he is of South African origin, although born in England) is not a regular with the ODI/test squad and is considered as a T20 specialist. His partnership with Buttler destroyed South African bowlers, as they scored 167 runs from 14 overs. Fringe South African players went for plenty. Lutho Sipamla conceded 45 runs from the 16 balls he bowled and Tabraiz Shamsi went for 57 from his 4 overs.

I always believed that 10 was the ideal number of teams in the IPL. In terms of financials, IPL is the largest franchise T20 league and they can maintain the quality and revenues even if the number of teams are increased to 10. If ECB can include 18 teams in the T20 Blast (which I believe is too high), then there is nothing wrong in IPL having 10 teams. On the other hand, for the smaller leagues such as CPL and LPL, I would still recommend 6 teams or even less.

It actually did but I as a fan would love many more matches. With other forms of cricket losing their viewership, IPL could possibly be extended to 3 to 4 months. With many teams, there would be many players involved with much more exposure for indian youths. With everything to normal, IPL would go to more cities, more viewership and more fans. More fans brings more commercials. It's a win win for everyone.

Franchise cricket is the future. Within the next 4-5 years, I expect international matches to decline to a bare minimum and leagues such as IPL, BBL and CPL to take their slot. It doesn't make any sense to spend time on boring bilateral series, when we can have 6-team, 8-team or even 10-team franchise tournaments involving hundreds of players at the same time. Look at football. Leagues such as the EPL are much more important than international "friendlies".

As Vishnu already mention I am also feeling in this way in next few years mostly we will love to watch franchise cricket and Champions League type tounrnaments instead of this International matches mostly Eruopeans fed up with these international matches and hate them too much this is also coming in cricket fans as well they will love to watch this all 12 months non stop.

The first T20 between Australia and India starts today. We already know that Australia will be without Warner after sustaining an injury in the second ODI match so it will be interesting to see how Australia go. Now that India have the momentum after winning the third ODI match I think this series will be a lot closer.

Although India lost the ODI series, I don't think it will be easy for Australia to win T20 against India. India have perfect team for T20. Look at the way Hardik is playing since IPL. A good start can get the match won easily for India.

Surely its could be very interesting match as India done some good in last ODI and they have very good and attacking players those can change things very quickly in this short format of game on other Hand Australia is also enjoying good with home advantage now with crowd allowed its more interesting because with empty stadiums its never been good for watching and playing.

I have always believed that IPL could became a 12+ teams tournament and if this "2 new teams" idea get passed then we are heading toward right direction overall. Adding to vishnu's argument. Triangular and Quadrilateral series are the future along with franchise.

I believe that in the IPL, there is a clause which require BCCI to get the approval of all the existing franchises, if they want to add additional teams. And most of the franchises have already voiced their opposition against any proposed expansion. It is not going to be easy for Jay Shah and Sourav Ganguly to convince the franchise owners. BTW, I am skeptical of your proposal of 12+ teams. In England they do have 18 teams and they are managing it quite well (with generous help from the Kolpak players), but I don't know if the quality can be maintained in India, if the number of teams are increased to 12+.

What do you mean by quality? is it quality of the game or quality of the players or the quality of the franchise. Please do elaborate. The decision to have extra teams in IPL is still in discussion, so it is still in work in progress. If you know Sourav Ganguly then you should know that he has the ability to convince the franchise.

After a disappointing ODI series where Australia completely dominated in the first two matches the T20 starts today, India has a good team who performed really well in the IPL and i would like to see Sanju Samson getting an opportunity and i wished to see him playing the ODI but he did not get the opportunity. Expecting a run fest just like the ODI and i expect the team batting first will have the advantage.
